This propane refill adapter works exactly as expected and feels solid in the hand. The threading connected cleanly without leaks, and the overall build quality feels much sturdier than some of the thinner adapters I’ve tried before. It’s compact, easy to use, and makes transferring propane straightforward without a lot of hassle. The brass construction gives it a durable feel, and the connection points seat securely without feeling loose or cheap. For the price, this is a practical little tool to keep around if you regularly refill smaller propane cylinders. Functionality is simple, quality feels reliable, and it performs the task without any unnecessary complications.

Did it's function. Saves a lot of money

Make sure to first warm up the large (source) bottle by placing it in the the sun for 30 -60 minutes. Place the empty small 1lb bottle in your freezer for about 1 hour. This will increase the pressure in the large bottle and decrease the pressure in the small bottle. Remove the small bottle from the freezer and quickly connect it to the large bottle. Make sure the large bottle is upside down (valve is downward). Open the valve on the large bottle and the small bottle should fill in about 2 minutes. Using this technique I was able to fill my small 1lb bottle about 80-90% full. Be patient and good luck!

The valve worked great! Here are a couple things I did that helped. 1. Put the empty 1lb bottle in the freezer for an hour or more prior to filling. This will help keep the incoming liquid propane from turning to a gas and will allow you to do a more complete fill. 2. After installing the adapter on the 20lb tank, hold the adapter in place with a wrench while you screw the cold 1lb bottle onto the other side. This will prevent the adapter from unscrewing from the 20lb tank. 3. Wear gloves if the 1lb bottle is not completely empty when you start. Some residual propane will spray out when screwing the small bottle onto the adapter and it is extremely cold. Gloves will protect your fingers from frostbite. 4. Turn the 20 lb bottle upside down before opening the valve. This will push liquid propane into your 1lb bottle rather than just propane gas. You will get a better fill. 5. Do this in a well ventilated area with no ignition sources. This valve worked perfectly and I would highly recommend.

If you use a lot of the blue or green "non refillable" propane bottles, this will save you money. I connect one end of the adapter to my 16gal grill tank and small bottle to other end and within minutes it's full.

Froze 16oz canisters overnight as suggested. 16oz'ers freezing, 20lb tank warm. Still did not refill 16oz'ers properly. By their weight, I'd guess these contraptions are only able to refill half.

Works as described

Please watch a few YouTube videos on the best way to use these. If you do it right, you can completely fill your bottles. I found that the smaller bottle being cold from a freezer and the 20lb tank being at least room temperature works best. Purge the air out of the bottle and re attach to the larger tank again and you'll fill the bottle completely.
