MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust Muffler 12256: 2.5"/2.5" Inlet/Outlet, 5x8x18" Oval, Stainless Steel, Satin Finish

Not too loud.. not too quiet... straight through mufflers are the best for air flow and sound...I cleaned the throttle body and IAC thoroughly and Installed a spectre oiled air filter and new plugs and wires now I can tell the difference in idle and acceleration... I wasn't expecting major improvements...after all the truck weighs in at over 5000 pounds empty... so I made the right choice..with magnaflow 12256 and 24 inch turndown... I used a micrometer to measure inlet and outlet sizes on my truck exhaust pipes... just to make sure...and double checked the new muffler to make sure that it fitted too...so I didn't have to add all kinds of adapters and reducers and all that... nah!!! It just slid right on.... and bolted right up... do the homework... 5-24-20 UPdate: after 2 years later and it sounds even better; more of that throaty sound we like. No drone... I used u bolts and did not weld it on and they have held just fine without no exhaust leaks or looseness. I measured how much exhaust pipe to cut off and how long the tail pipe needed to be to extend past the truck cab and no fumes got into the cab. Do the homework.

Installed this muffler first on my 94 Dodge Ram with V6 engine in place of the factory muffler. While somewhat louder while cruising, the noise was not excessive or distracting. Under hard acceleration it has a nice bark, but once again, nothing as obnoxious as a straight pipe or glass pack set up. When I sold the fullsize, I installed on my Dakota, same year and engine. It is much louder on this truck, but the exhaust is dumped much closer to the back of the muffler. I would recommend this muffler to anyone who wants a nice performance sound without excessive cabin noise while cruising, keeping in mind that the rest of the exhaust system may need tweaking to get rid of any resonances. The construction of this muffler is simply beautiful. The welds are all properly sized and placed, which as a welder pleased me to no end.

Fantastic muffler 2.5 inlet & outlet. Solid construction. Tap on it out of the box and it feels and sounds Solid!! The packing inside is engineered to mitigate droning and raspy wide open throttle shrieking that can happen with four cylinder engines. Sound is at a very comfortable level and the neighbors dogs are happy too! Great product!!

This is a tough review for me. The muffler is very high quality and fit my '03 Wrangler with 2.25 to 2.5" adapters. I must say that while it did give a nice deep rumble, it was simply not loud enough for me. I was looking for something with a little more juice! I've ordered a Magnaflow glasspack to replace this. We shall see how it goes. This is definitely louder than stock and the tone is very nice. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being obnoxiously loud and 1 being very quiet, I would rate the stock muffler at 1 and this muffler at 3. Like I said, I'm looking for something more in the 6-8 range.

Installed this on my 2014 4Runner SR5 with 4x4. The sound is very becoming of this SUV. It takes the 4Runner from a very quite, almost silent exhaust, to a nice low yet sporty growl under acceleration. The tone is perfect, and the volume level is perfect for a guy who wants to sound more aggressive, but can still use the Toyota as your family car or weekend grocery hauler. If you want an exhaust that you can hear all the time, even during idle, then get a smaller louder muffler. I used to to have a pretty loud exhaust set up on my BMW 330i ZHP so this was a step down from the volume that I'm used to. I'm very happy with this exhaust set up.

Installed on 2005 Tacoma V6 TRD using stock piping. Nice growl on start up, slightly louder than stock while idling and while driving around town it sounds deep and good. Quiet enough to not be disturbing while driving normally, but can be loud when driving aggressively. No drone on the highway or crusing. Muffler takes roughly 500 miles to break in, mine got much louder and deeper after break in period. Definitely worth the money. Makes the truck a lot more fun to drive and stand out on the road. Had a local muffler shop weld this onto my 2001 4Runner. It is louder than stock, but sounds pretty good. I can see how some people wouldn't love it, but for my lifted, blacked out truck with intake mods, it fits the bill nicely. There was a noticeable increase in throttle response and horsepower, albeit not hge.

Purchased for a Jeep TJ 2006. Cut the ends from the factory muffler and clamped it on. Added 8" of pipe to the rear and connected the tail pipe. Autozone parts. The tone is very deep and there is no roar inside at highway speed. Not much louder than stock but a soothing low rumble. Love it!

Great muffler, choose the long version of the muffler to try and match with my OEM muffler. Looks great and sounds great and has a low rumble.

Arrived in perfect condition. It was easy to install and was a perfect fit to my trucks factory exhaust pipe. I put it on a 99 F150 with a 4.2 V6. Nice tone a little deeper then the OEM muffler but not loud. Hardly notice it at highway speed.

This has a nice rumble on a Toyota 4Runner with the 4.7 V8. No terrible drone on the highway and sounds good at idle without the resonator.

Muffler is fine but the box was broke open and all the paper work in the box was missing.
