Q: Is this a good sharpener for pencil colors?

The sharpener is just a standard pencil sharpener. It works fine for the colors but I bought the Prismacolor sharpener because it does two different types of points depending on what you're doing. I bought this set for the blending tools and the pencil extension. With the price of good pencils the extension is awesome because you can use your nubs right up to the end.

I liked the one in the package. It works fine. Remember that you turn the pencil sharpener, not the pencil. You can replace the blades too. I bought another sharpener, actually a few but the handheld are supposed to be the best for these type pencils. I bought a Staedler because I wanted one with two sizes for my pastel pencils (not sure on the spelling) and then an Alvin and I like it the best. I bought lots of blades because they don't last too long on some of the pencils, I use several types. I have a a little jewelry box about the size of a bangle bracelet and I sharpen into it. It is probably larger than the Prismacolor with the container attached. I just empty it at night when I'm done drawing, etc.

Yes, it is made for colored pencils. I rarely use it for my pencils, as I have a special electric sharpener I use, though it is not recommended by the manufacturer.

Absolutely.It is one very important element,when you need to correct o remove almost anything, even ink. But the plastic o vinyl eraser have to be used carefully, if not can easily tear through paper.
