The procedure to bypass the existing ballast was not complicated at all (the devil is in the details): [1] Carefully remove the ballast cover; [2] Switch off the power to the light fixture; [3] Carefully remove the florescent bulbs; [4] Cut all the wires to the ballast (leave about two inches for each wire coming from the ballast in case you ever want to reconnect the ballast) and carefully strip off 1/2 inch of insulation from each wire; [5] Connect all the yellow wire ends from the fixture to the incoming power's white wire (the neutral wire) and then add a screw cap followed by electrical tape; [6] Connect all the red and blue wire ends from the fixture ends to the incoming power's black wire (the hot wire) and then add a screw cap followed by electrical tape; [7] Carefully replace the ballast cover; [8] Install the new LED bulbs.; [9] Switch the power back on to the fixture, and the bulbs illuminate instantly without latency. The bulbs are slim and light. They are very bright with a "bluish-white" color suitable for an office, a basement, a garage, a warehouse, etc. I ordered four bulbs, but one of the bulbs was defective (it fizzled out and left an ozone odor). At no cost to me, Amazon Customer Service shipped to me a complete replacement set of four bulbs, and I did not have to return anything, so I have some replacement bulbs, should I need them. I definitely recommend this product to others looking for a bright LED bulbs to replace old or burnt-out florescent bulbs.

The bulbs are exactly as described. Great for converting over from old style ballast operated florescent bulbs to LED. It takes about 15 mins to remove the ballast and convert over. It was a very simple operation. These are very bright and every bulb has worked so far, although I am only half done, still got 6 more ceiling lights to change out.

I tried another brand of led/florescent replacement that was supposed to work with or without the ballast. It didn't, so I ordered these for $10 less per 4 pack. I only rated Easy to Install as 3 star because these lights do require that the fixture be modified and the ballast removed. This is not complicated if you have minor electrical knowledge, but it is nota plug & play light. However, the modification makes the light much more cost efficient and the lights are very bright. I'm very happy.

i like this light. nice and bright and covers a heck of a lot more space than the old flourescent bulbs did. easy to modify the ballast, simple google/youtube 5 min later it was done. i'm please with the final results, but a word of caution. they put a protective "tape/plastic" over the LED side and it snagged on one of the bulbs. you can see the result in the photo what happened. fortunately it was just a quick snap back on and good to go. just be careful, they aren't made to be handled roughly (no different than the flourescent).

Replaced conventional fluorescent tubes with these. Had to remove ballast and rewire fixture to supply neutral (white wire) to one end and hot (black wire) to the other. Not sure that both pins on these lamps are tied together, so I just joined the socket wires off each end (two lamp fixture in my case) together, then to either neutral or hot. No polarity preference (hot vs. neutral) at the bulb so this was easy. I wouldn't recommend doing this rewire for homeowners that are not familiar with household wiring and safe practices. You cannot use these particular LED bulbs in a fluorescent fixture without the rewire! Note that some LED fluorescent replacements can be used in fluorescent fixtures that have ballasts without modifications within the fixture but you'd sacrifice some energy efficiency if you leave the starting ballast in place without modification. That is a good alternative for those people that are not comfortable with rewiring the fixture and saves you on the electrician's labor cost.

I ordered the 4 pack T8 lights. It arrived on time , and was packaged well. The pins that go into the tombstones even have plastic protectors covering them. When I removed the covers from the ends of the bulbs I noticed one pin was manufactured incorrectly. It was broken, and hanging by a small piece of wire. Making the bulb unusable. Obviously there was no quality control from whatever factory in whatever country. The other lights work well, but are not as bright as I had hoped they would be.

These bulbs are wonderful! We replaced fluorescent bulbs by bypassing the ballasts in our old fixture. SO EASY A CAVEMAN COULD DO IT! Watch a You Tube video -converting your fluorescent fixture is simple! The bulbs are so nice and bright -AND no flickering-no pink or orange tinge-no buzzing-none of the crap that comes with fluorescent bulbs! Pictured is the ballast/bypass and then fluorescent bulb above our sink next to the new LED 4’ bulbs in the ceiling fixture so you can see the contrast and how much better the light quality is! So much better!! We didn’t realize how terrible the fluorescent bulbs were until we put these up! NOW-CUSTOMER SERVICE One of the bulbs we got was damaged so we emailed the company (at 11PM on a Saturday night) using the email address on the card included with the bulbs. We got a response in less than an hour! They sent us a coupon code to use on Amazon to replace the bulb in no time flat and were very apologetic. Product defects happen...that’s life...but the way a company handles it is what matters and besides being very satisfied with these bulbs overall, we were also extremely impressed with CNSUNWAY LIGHTING customer service and will buy from them again for sure!

Thought I was getting a great deal with great reviews. I have a standard 4 ft fluorescent garage fixture. So, I was thanking this was a great deal and will save on electricity for a standard garage 4 ft fixture. Well, sadly the didn't fit properly like they should and after fiddling with them for longer than I should have, I finally gave in and said this is not worth my time. I'll go to home depot, spend 20 bucks and know that I won't have a problem. Just FYI

If your an electrician very easy to install if your not still easy as long as you understand what to do like the fact that you need to remove the balest from you light fixtures and rewire the light sockets to 110v neutral to one socket and hot to the other socket. If you do not understand this I recommend you hire a lecetrician.

I install it in a 4 tube box and it is very bright and easy Tu install Satisfied
