Excelllent Electric Saw for Small to Medium Workloads
I have 4 acres of woodland to maintain and wanted something more lightweight and quieter than a standard petrol saw. After reading a ton of reviews I settled on the Greenworks. The 2 AH battery that comes with this lasts approximately 30mins cutting medium sized logs. I will certainly buying the 4 or 6 AH battery in future for a longer running time. Its easy to assemble and the built in chain tensioner is fantastic. Some people commented the button is slightly small when wearing gloves but I've had no issues at all. For small runs, blocking and cutting firewood, its a great work horse. If you want to do something more then I think the bigger model is what you will be looking for.

Upgrade on previous model
I’ve bought this as a replacement for the previous greenworks polesaw model. The saw feels sturdier and upgraded and I love the little hock they built in which allows you to pull and branches down. However I has to remove one star for two reasons.1st the oil cap bizarrely has a whole in it. I assume it’s to relieve pressure and to allow it to flow more freely. But, as you can even see from my picture, unless you hold the saw straight at all times the oil comes out and it’s a complete mess.2nd the new model has a different closing mechanism. I assume this makes it safer, however rather then being able to screw it tight by hand you now need an external tool. So if the chain does come loose and you need to quickly fix it you can’t do it without the tool.I use the saw away from home and on more than one occasion lost have a day of working with it because the tool wasn’t at hand and it couldn’t be fixed manually.

Please extend the range
Why did I buy this product? I wanted to pretend I was Ash from the evil dead and be groovy lol. That’s not true, I did want to cut stuff up tho. This was the naked model so I had to buy a charger and battery separately. Not the cheapest things in the world but when I finally got to use it I was very impressed. It’s self oils and had a little reservoir that must have oil in it tomstop the chain snagging or breaking. Nice easy tension device and simplest instructions out of the box. Was ready to go in just a few minutes. It’s got a bit of weight to it which I actually liked but would become a problem if you were on a big job. Now cutting is a pleasure. It really makes light work of small medium logs. I was bringing down a pergola which was mostly 4x4 and it would go through those in just a few seconds. A lot of it had plant stems wrapped around it too making the wood thicker in places. I reckon I got over 100 cuts out of it and still had one light on the battery at the end of my task. There was still a bit of oil left in the chamber too. Will have to get a second battery for the bigger jobs I have left to do around the garden. It’s safe too. There is a two stage starting procedure making it impossible to operate accidentally and there is a break guard on the top to protect your hands. Came with a chain cover and a carry bag also. Would like to see these products bundled with a battery and a charger tho. Really loved working with this bit of kit. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough for anyone with a bit of medium heavy cutting to do. Oh I forgot, We have log burners in the house so even when the jobs are done it will still get regular use for cutting logs down.

Does the job but battery does not last long
Initially I put the chain on the wrong way round. I didn't know there was a right way and a wrong way. Then it worked great. But the battery does not last very long. The largest branches I was cutting were maybe 3" across and it went through these fine.

Worrying!
I bought this because I have other Greenworks tools. There are a couple of issues I have found with this particular tool.It DOES NOT come with chain oil. You cannot use it without chain oil. Why didn't Greenworks supply just enough to use it straight out of the box? I had to order and then wait for Amazon delivery of chain oil. Also, I've only used it once and the chain came off twice!!!I had to take it apart which I was very loathe to do as I don't really do DIY.Hopefully I've put it back correctly and tightened everything up and it will be ok.Lastly, it does seem to work fine on small branches and trees but not so good on hedges (it quickly gets jammed with leaves and small twigs).Overall, not bad and will probably do the job ok in the future.

Great little chainsaw
Been thinking of getting an electric chainsaw for a while and I was mightily impressed with this one.Was slightly surprised that I had to put it together out of the box but it wasn't very difficult and had it ready ina few minutes. However don't forget that you will need chain oil as that isn't supplied.Charged the batteries up (which they do quite quickly) and found it will happily cut quite substantial bits of wood. It's a joy not needing petrol and 2 stroke, and it's much, much quieter than my petrol chainsaw. It's light so great for doing hedge trimming work as well as sawing up logs. If you are trying to cut big lumps of wood it does drain the battery quite quickly, but for me it's so far so good

The strap doesn't help.
Worked really well to chop back a massive shrub. I could work out how to use the strap to balance the weight with the extension pole on though - tried it all sorts of ways but I still had to hold the full weight of the machine.

Clean Fast Reliable
I bought this saw because I don't like 2 stroke engines for their smell, fuss or reliability. You need to bear in mind that it won't cut as long on a charge as a petrol saw will on a tank but the benefits overcome that. I love how it's quieter, just as powerful, doesn't need to be started and doesn't have a carburettor to get a blocked jet which needs cleaning out! I'm very pleased I bought this and you should be too. This is absolutely a suitable alternative to the equivalent sized Stihl chainsaw. 👍
