Still The most efficient bug zapper I have ever owned after four years of use.
Update 8/7/25 Out of the many bug zappers I have tried, I am very glad to have discovered this brand. I have been given other brands to test out and several companies have tried to copy this brand, but other brands have fallen way short to the durability and performance in killing bugs like the Aspectek brand. My two older versions are about four years old and still work. Since the other brands are so inferior, I feel compelled and am willing to spend the extra time to tell how great this zapper is. I just tried their newest LED version of this bug zapper, but when I hung my two older zappers next to the new LED version, I observed that the older version zapped about twice to three times as many bugs. I will post a recent picture of my four year old zapper hanging next to an LED version to show what I am talking about. The pictures show ONE night’s worth of bugs. Beware that if you live in a heavily bug infested environment like I do, you will have to clean the grids each day. Because of this huge difference in performance, I just bought another brand new older version that still uses the fluorescent 10 watt tubes. I will be returning the LED version back. Yes, with the older version I have to replace my tubes about every year, an additional cost, but I want efficiency in killing bugs. The difference in the new version is that there is a new brace that screws the two outer safety grids together. I suspect that the reason is that the older style outer grids are difficult to snap into place and I have to pry them with a flat screwdriver to release. Since my older versions are around four years old, I do not remember the electrocution grids being so shiny made of stainless steel like the new one I just bought. The newest version does have narrower grid openings. Older version has a outer grid opening of 5/16 wheras the newest version has a 1/4 inch opening. This difference in grid openings will hinder larger bugs from entering. I have yet to compare the new old version to the old, four year’s old version. I hope you appeciate the comprehensiveness of this review. Original (old) product review: I am in my seventies and have purchased many bug zappers. It is difficult to find a robust zapper that not only has an effective electrocution grid, is easy to clean, and also has an effective set of lights that draw bugs and last a decent amount of time. I like that this zapper is about a third the price of the out door models I have purchased in the past that have died after one season’s use. The snap sound is about twice the volume of my outdoor models. The unfortunate handicap with this unit is that it must be used out of the weather. I am impressed with its sturdiness, and especially its high voltage electrocution grid. I know the electrocution voltage is high because it makes a startling loud, SNAPPING sound when an insect hits its grid. This can startle anyone close by and my dogs jump when the bug zapper snaps. The grid is sturdy and the spacing is narrow enough to easily kill flies and mosquitoes. I live in east Texas, out in the country where we get a decent amount of rain and livestock are close by to breed flies and mosquitoes. I have chickens that have suffered from annoying mosquitoes. The picture I posted shows my birds on their roost. They tolerate the loud snaps from insects being killed. I liked this zapper so much that I bought another one I will be installing on my patio. My main concern is how long the light and zapper grid will last. If this zapper prematurely fails, I plan to update this post. I was going to buy some smaller ones of this brand, but saw that several have posted that the lights burn out quickly. The main negative I have for this zapper is the electrical cord is inconveniently, way too short. For first impressions, I am very pleased.

Works Great and Excellent Value
This bug zapper really works. It zaps several bugs a day inside my house during summer months. After 5 years of almost continuous use, one of the lightbulbs went out. Luckily, the company sells replacement lightbulbs as well for $10 each. I own three of these - one on every level.

Zap Zap
This thing works. I have only had it for about a week, but it zaps small gnats in my apartment. It is loud if the zap noice bothers you. I can hear it even when my BR door is closed, but that does not bother me. I like the fact that it can be moved from room to room, although I keep it on the floor between two rooms in a walkway. So far it has been very effective in catching pesky gnats.

Bye bye bugs 🦟
Zapped a mosquito as soon as I plugged it in. This zapper is gigantic my fault for not looking at measurements. I had a similar small electric bug zapper before about half the size so seeing this one blew my mind 😆 it is working well. My only negative comment would be about hanging. It comes with a chain and small hooks that are supposed to clip on to small loops on bug zapper, unfortunately I feel if I try the loops on the zapper will break. It still works if placed on a table, just sucks that I won’t be able to hang it to get it out of the way.

Great purchase
Have 3 and they keep the shop and garages bug free. Placed on a window thats easy to clean around because this thing creates a serious death zone for bugs.

Annihilates all things with wings (probably)
Within 5 minutes of plugging this bad-boy in, I counted about 10 things it killed immediately. We have a major fly (large house flies and other kinds) and mosquito problem in our garage. Every time we open the garage door about 10 more fly in and start breeding and it became intolerable to even be in the garage. I was always leery about buying things like this because I wasn’t sure about the effectiveness and most of them seem to be for outdoor use. But eventually when I couldn’t breathe without inhaling flies and we had to enter and exit the garage as fast as we could to avoid a few flies entering the house, I caved and got one. I regret I didn’t buy this sooner. It’s super loud and scary if a flying insect meets its demise while you’re nearby, but it’s also very satisfying. Luckily it’s in our garage so we’re not really around it most of the time anyway, and once it clears out a room (which takes about a night, just leave it on, and turn off all other lights) it’s pretty quiet, and can probably even just be turned off until the next time you need it. The insect graveyard that it’s collecting has been pretty impressive. I probably need to clean it, but looking at the pile of corpses pleases me.

It works, but I'll get back to you on efficiency.
Wondering why some of the poor bugs aren't zapped more quickly. I hate doing this in the first place but at least make it less miserable for them. It also freaks my dog out when the loud pop happens! I thought it was quiet? It light weight and portable seems to attract the bugs into the house from windows somehow and some of them don't go directly to it.
