This is a good "initial" qbank for anyone preparing for usmle step 1. The quality of questions are really good. All the questions are organized in subject-wise fashion instead of being system-wise. This is a bit contradictory to other qbanks. This book is probably more useful to students who started their preparation with Kaplan lecture notes, especially before they start an other online qbank.Major drawbacks of this book are its price and absolute lack of images. This book is way too expensive for what it delivers. There are no image questions, no arrow questions. There is a huge potential for wonderful flowcharts and pictures, but this book contains none of them. The USMLE exam is becoming more multimedia based exam, with increasing images, sounds and even video clips. This book only serves as an introduction into the type of questions you might see in the exam, being useful for students in the initial phase of their preparation. This book is not at all useful for anyone in the intermediate or final stages of their preparation.

Good but not that worthy Bcz page quality is not that much good

Tinha a Nona edição e gostei, me ajudou. Estava ansioso para decima edição. Compro antecipado. Quando começo a responder as questões, para minha surpresa, estão IGUAIS as da edição anterior! Se puderem, comprem a versão anterior, quiçá a oitava. Porque pelo grau de preguiça colocada nesse, não duvido que esteja parecido também.

I also started off with the first aid question bank (USMLE Rx), but found the questions in Kaplan to be better. USMLE Rx has a lot of buzz words, which may be better during your first two medical school years when exams often times include buzz word descriptions, but the USMLE (still haven't taken it yet, but from NBME questions and others opinions) tends to stay away from buzz words and goes more into descriptions, which Kaplan does. Kaplan also has more third order questions, which mean you'll get used to answering questions that are a little bit more difficult than the actual exam. The book is filled with a great intro going over the USMLE and test taking strategies, and gives excellent responses to why each question in it is either right or wrong, and why the wrong answers are wrong. If you are looking for a qbank to study for the boards, Kaplan over USMLE Rx. If youre looking for a qbank to do during your first semesters, USMLE Rx might be a little bit closer to the types of questions medical schools will be asking on exams. But, as a question bank in your dedicated study or last year, this is by far the better written of the question banks. Also, I'm assuming you will at some point use UWORLD. Im saving that for my dedicated study period, and using this qbank during my 4th semester. UWORLD is the best, however this is what I would recommend using before doing UWORLD questions.
