DOCTOR O.S.T. - Doctor / O.S.T. - desertcart.com Music Review: They need to change the title of this movie as "Faith" - so others can find this movie. No one knows it as Doctor - i think. - Eeek! I wrote the review of the 24 episode drama, but somewhere buried in here is my review of the soundtrack which I bought for the pictures book and the music! Lee Min Ho! (he's that gorgeous South Korean actor who was also in City Hunter - the South Korean tv series). Do I need to say anything else? Oh yes, this is classic old-fashioned romance. The title in Korean is Healer, and in Japanese (they sell it in BLU RAY - for $160.00 for 1 volume out of 3) it is Kamui. It is based on a script by a South Korean writer and the TV series is absolutely extraordinary. Most wonderfully, for a historical drama - it ends HAPPILY! I Like happy endings! The 24 (I think) episode drama is a time traveling fantasy based tv dorama which features the characters who grow and mature and become more compassionate and better human beings for having known each other. It becomes so moving to see this selfish doctor change more and more by her love for this warrior to become actually - hah ! a healer!. Lee Min Ho plays the part of a very famous Korean general -Choi Young (google him) but the story has him being once a member of an elite fighting group, and the heartbreaking loss of those he loved that shaped him into someone who was just waiting to die, until he meets that loud mouth, wisecracking, swearing, absolutely gorgeous red-headed cardiothoracic surgeon turned plastic surgeon (for easier money). I love the story arc! I love the story telling! I love this drama! This has got to be one of the more purer forms of outright love and romance. No sex! I think there is one scene that he kisses her - and that's it, and it's in public too! (for the purists - yes the kiss scene was beyond belief during ancient times I believe). Anyway, Lee Min Ho (or as the script writer said - Lee Min Ho's acting was so good - that he IS CHOI YOOUNG as she wrote him), is grudgingly (as the royal guard) escorting the Korean King raised in Yuan China back to Korea, and in the process is unable to stop the assassins from hurting the queen (she is still alive). So he time travels (not knowing he is time traveling) he thinks he is going to Heaven to find Heaven's Doctor (since he doesn't really care whether he lives or dies - this is not a concern for him). He ends up in modern day Gangnam, South Korea, near a plastic surgery conference, walks in on a conference - sees a beautiful doctor showing slides on face lifts and realizes that her skills are exactly what he needs to save the queen, so he kidnaps her. He doesn't recognize that he is drawn to her at the time. Anyway, this TV drama succeeds in so many ways - I mean there are lots of internet sites on this movie - there is the choice of the actress - Kim Hee Sun (see my review of TOMATO on desertcart when she was way younger) who plays someone I think 4 years or so older than Choi Young. She spends a lot of the time trying to boss him around in the beginning - near the end, she becomes the classic self-sacrificing heroine who will do anything for him just as he does for her, I love their spats! The music is so fabulous! I bought the soundtrack music too from here - i should probably review it too! The music is just wonderful! The CD comes with picture too! American has John williams - Korea has _____ (this is so bad - i don't speak the language and I don't know his name - but his music is so glorious and uplifting - especially the title cut called "great big Choi Young" who in real life was quite imposing and taller than others - and when he and the other royal guards come in - finally in full armor and regalia and the music is played - eeeek! (sorry - I am such a fangirl!). Google the title on you tube and you will hear what I mean. The script writing is so beautiful, and there are a few people who are translating her novel from the japanese to english. Ok, so you can tell I am really into this tv series. Also, when Lee Min Ho was recently asked which actress he enjoyed working with the most - he mentioned Kim Hee Sun. This TV series came out a few years ago I wish they would release the Blu Ray in America with english subtitles. Review: Amazing product for amazing soundtrack - This case is phenomenal. I bought the soundtrack because I loved the show, and the soundtrack is one that is truly unforgettable. I had put it off for a while but when I finally caved and bought the CD, I couldn't be happier. I've uploaded photos because the product photo does no justice to the actual packaging. I expected a traditional plastic CD case with a CD and booklet. What I got instead was a work of art. The CD comes in a paper folder-type case with the disc on the right and booklet attached on the left panel when opened. The booklet contains all standard information - song listings and lyrics in Hangul where appropriate, along with a full list of the drama crew and music credits. There are also many photos of Lee Min Ho (Choi Young) for those who might appreciate that and a few images of the other main characters. Truly worth every expense - even if an mp3 version were available.

HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL
I don't understand the Korean language but I have to say this CD contains some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. It's melodic and richly toned and I'm delighted that I own it and can play it again and again. Hopefully if you're reading this, you've seen the movie the music comes from, and you'll be glad to know this soundtrack will bring segments of the movie back to your mind. I can't get enough of the song "Carry On" -after hearing only a short bit of it during the movie, it's wonderful to hear the song in it's entirety. If you liked the movie, this CD is a must-have.

very nice music. Could have wished for a few less ...
Lovely packaging, very nice music. Could have wished for a few less of the pop songs, but they were in the series, so I suppose I can't complain. :)

My review of the Doctor
Obviously this is the soundtrack to the stunning TV Series "The Doctor" and it is on compact disc which I prefer. The booklet/casing it comes in is very nice and reflects the quality of the show. The music itself is perfect it matches the series. This soundtrack is available on I-Tunes but not as a single complete package. One would have to make multiple purchased for the digital Mp3 version. If you love the series you'll love and appreciate the soundtrack. Would of been nice if their was an English version of the two main songs everybody likes but that's just a thought. I've come to realize if you find something that you really like or think you'll really enjoy you should buy it quickly for some items on line become a rarity and or a collectors item pretty fast. Glad I bought it!

One of the best K-dramas out there
One of the best K-dramas out there. Action, romance, comedy, great costuming (frankly amazing costuming and beautiful sets). It has an interesting and fantastic story. The music to this series is so perfect and well written. I'd love to hear more from this composer.

Faith CD is Excellent
If you enjoyed watching the Korean series Faith (or as it is called for this CD-Doctor), you will definitely enjoy hearing it over again. Music on many of these Korean series are excellent and this is no exception. I have several CD sets of various series, and they are all wonderful. I've become a Korean series "junkie" and find the shows acting, scenery, and overall quality equal to anything made in the US. Since I can't speak Korean, I am so glad for most of the English subs because they do give you the correct flavor/words of what the characters are saying. Hope I've helped you make your selection

I love it!
Such a beautiful OST and the presentation is wonderful too. The quality of the pictures and the music, just amazing. It's a great korean drama and this OST is the perfect complement if you have loved the series.

Carry On (4:23) 02. Because My Steps Are Slow aka Walking Slowly 걸음이 느려서 (4:29) 03. Bad Person 나쁜사람 (4:00) 04. I See You aka Look At You 그대를 봅니다 (4:01) 05. Song of wind 바람의 노래 (3:40) 06. Because It's You 그대니까 (4:34) 07. Faith (Main Title-Choral. Ver)(3:00) 08. I Am Woodalchi (Great Big Choi Young) (1:53) 09. Sadness (Pianoforte & String Ver) (2:57) 10. You & Me (1:36) 11. Smile (Lovely Face - Eunsoo) (2:31) 12. The Dangerous Time (1:28) 13. The Blade Of Red-Moon (1:43) 14. Move & Run ( Original Ver) (1:35) 15. The Palace Story (2:01) 16. Forever ( Carry on - Pianoforte Ver) (2:33) 17. Knife Wind (2:52) 18. Shadow Man (2:39) 19. Attack Point (1:41) 20. Tears of Soldier (1:56) 21. Missing You (2:17) 22. The Justice (2:27) 23. Flower Garden (2:13)
