Ivan Reitman's 1984 mega-hit, and it's lesser sequel, are both included in this double feature DVD gift set that long time fans of the Ghostbusters should consider an absolute must own. Chances are you already know the story: three bumbling scientists (Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis) lose their campus jobs and go into business for themselves. Only thing is, their business involves capturing and containing gross and slimy ghosts throughout New York. Also featuring Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson, and Rick Moranis; Ghostbusters ended up being a super hit which spawned an animated series, tons of toys, and a sequel five years later. Ghostbusters 2, while nowhere near as wonderful as the first film but still pretty fun, finds the guys back in business as a new breed of evil is about to be birthed in time for New Years. Although this isn't the first time both films have appeared on DVD, there's enough special features here to make this Gift Set worth picking up. There's a nice selection of deleted scenes (nothing substancial), a couple featurettes, and commentary from Reitman and co., but there's no features devoted to Ghostbusters 2. Instead, there are two animated episodes that are linked to the two films, and there's an exclusive scrap book included too with a nice variety of information for fans. If you've already been double dipped by the Ghostbusters on DVD, picking this up is entirely up to you. However, if you're a fan of these films and don't own them on DVD, pick this affordable Gift Set up and enjoy.

TWO complaints.The Digital Version is the PREVIOUS release so no new deleted scenes from the 35th Anniversary, also Sony did not provide the 4K digital download. Just a let down for the price.The discs are stacked 3 and 2. Of all of the corners they could have cut the internal packaging was one they shouldn't have. I love Ghostbusters. Loved it since I was a kid and still love it just as much.This set is great for a collector... as long as you haven't bought the the blu-ray singles or the 4K/BD combos. The movie discs are the exact same as those.The only thing that keeps this from being a true "double dip" is the steelbook case, which has hints of the old VHS covers, and the fifth disc, which has the newly released stuff.Don't get me wrong, this is a great set. It's a definite must buy. I recommend it regardless if you already own it.

Una excelente versión, incluye las dos películas originales con subtítulos y audio al español latino, no me gustan las películas dobladas pero esta es un buen recuerdo de mi infancia, cada película viene en su propio case(slim) y trae un libro de arte, sin bien estaba sellada y llego en perfectas condiciones se ve que es una versión vieja(old stock) pues el cover es metalizado y esta algo decolorado de las esquinas, pero al costo adquirido vale la pena cada centavo incluso con detalles

Juste les commentaires audio !

Ich habe die beiden Filme "Ghostbusters" (von 1984) und "Ghostbusters II" (von 1989) als mastered in 4K im Blu-ray-Set erworben. Die Blu-rays sollten normalerweise auf einem handelsüblichen Blu-ray-Player und einem Full HD-TV laufen. Bei Problemen vielleicht ein Betriebssystem-Update / Firmware-Update durchführen. Bei mir liefen die Scheiben einwandfrei und mit gutem Bild. Nur beim deutschen Synchronton hätte ich mir mehr Auswahlmöglichkeiten gewünscht. Stereoton gibt es da nicht, aber höherwertige Tonoptionen liegen vor. Bei den beiden "Ghostbusters"-Filmen handelt es sich um die Originalfilme aus den 80ern. Sie stellen eine flotte Horrorkomödie dar, die es mit den Horroreffekten aber nicht übertreibt. Der Humor steht klar im Vordergrund und man kann viel schmunzeln und lachen! Die Trickeffekte waren damals Up-to-date, heute allerdings nicht mehr. D. h. aber nicht, dass man Abstriche beim Filmgenuss machen muss. Im Gegenteil: Die beiden Filme sind absoluter Hochgenuss! Die Horroreffekte sind teils harmlos, wie der sog. Slimer genannte Geist bis richtig gruselig, z. Bsp. eine animierte Leiche als Taxifahrer. Regisseur bei beiden Werken war Ivan Reitmann.Die Ghostbusters:Die drei ursprünglichen Ghostbusters, also Geisterjäger, sind Dr. Peter Venkman (gespielt von Bill Murray), Dr. Raymond Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) und Dr. Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis). Im ersten Teil kommt dann noch Winston Zeddmore (gespielt von Ernie Hudson) als vierter Ghostbuster dazu. Im zweiten Teil stößt Louis Tully (gespielt von Rick Moranis) als fünfter Ghostbuster am Ende des Films dazu. Dieser wurde auch bereits im ersten Teil in einer wichtigen Rolle eingeführt. Insbesondere die Schauspieler Bill Murray und Dan Aykroyd sind Legenden unter den Topstars der Schauspielbranche geworden.Inhalt Film 1:In "Ghostbusters" betreiben die drei Doktoren parapsychologische Forschung an einer New Yorker Universität ohne viel Erfolg. Ihnen wird folglich gekündigt und sie machen sich als Ghostbusters auf Geisterjagd. Bald haben sie ihren ersten Fall. Sie fangen in New York City Geister mit ihren Positronen-Kollidierern, coolen Energiewerfern, die sie selbst entwickelt haben und gegen die Geistererscheinungen einsetzten. Zu ihren Einsätzen fahren sie mit einem umlackierten und umfunktionierten Leichenwagen namens Ecto-1. Der bereits erwähnte vierte Ghostbuster stößt zu ihnen dazu. Die Geistererscheinungen nehmen überhand und die Ereignisse spitzen sich zu einer gigantischen Bedrohung in Form einer sich anbahnenden Apokalypse zu, bei der Dr. Venkmans Schwarm, gespielt von niemand weniger als Sigourney Weaver (bekannt aus dem Horror-SciFi-Film "Alien"), eine Rolle spielt.Kritik zu Film 1:"Ghostbusters" ist tricktechnisch heute natürlich nicht mehr auf der Höhe der Zeit, wie bereits erwähnt. Die Tricks sind allerdings immer noch weitgehend glaubwürdig und bereichern das Geschehen auf dem Bildschirm ungemein. Die Action ist moderat in Szene gesetzt und z. T. nähert sie sich dem Slapstick, z. Bsp. in Form von Vollgeschleimt-Werden durch einen Geist. Der Film ist durchaus spannend und sehr abwechslungsreich. Die Namensgebungen sind auch originell, wie z. Bsp "Ecto-1" für den Einsatzwagen, was an Ektoplasma erinnern soll, die Substanz, die Geister in den Filmen absondern. Oder "Klasse-Fünf-Dunst" als Bezeichnung für einen Spuk bestimmter Art. "Ghostbusters" ist klar eine Horrorkomödie mit Betonung auf "Komödie".Extras Film 1:Neben den älteren Originalextras gibt es auch eine Retrospektive mit Regisseur Ivan Reitmann und Schauspieler Dan Aykroyd, das geniale "Ghostbuster"-Musikvideo von Ray Parker Jr. und eine Poster-Art-Galerie. Die Orignalextras enthalten u. a. mehrere kleinere Featurettes und einen Audiokommentar. Alle Interviews und Kommentare lassen sich deutsch untertiteln.Inhalt Film 2:Bei "Ghostbusters II" sind fünf Jahre seit den Geschehnissen aus Teil 1 vergangen. Die Öffentlichkeit glaubt nicht mehr so recht an Spukerscheinungen und die Ghostbusters haben erstmal nichts zu jagen und einzufangen. Da entdecken sie einen psychoreaktiven Schleimfluss unter New York City, der alle die negativen Energien der Stadt einzufangen scheint. Der Schleimfluss fließt genau auf das Museum zu, in dem Dr. Venkmans Freundin, wieder gespielt von Sigourney Weaver, arbeitet. Eine sehr böse Spukerscheinung aus der Geschichte will Besitz von ihrem Kind ergreifen! Die vier Ghostbusters müssen sich dem in den Weg stellen. Der fünfte Ghostbuster kommt zu der Truppe dazu.Kritik Film 2:Die Qualität der Trickeffekte in "Ghostbusters II" ist wie im ersten Teil, nur dass ihre Anzahl etwas geringer ist. Auch die Action wurde etwas zurückgefahren. Das Ausmaß der sich anbahnenden Katastrophe erscheint zunächst etwas kleiner, läuft dann aber auch auf eine Herrschaft des Schreckens hinaus, die es zu verhindern gilt, sodass die Spannung immer erhalten bleibt. Vom Stil her bleibt der Film dem Vorgänger treu. Humor und Komödie stehen klar im Vordergrund! Der zweite Film fällt hinter den ersten Film etwas ab, ist aber immer noch gut.Extras Film 2:"Ghostbusters II" hat deutlich weniger Extras, u. a. auch keinen Audiokommentar, was schade ist. Es gibt aber bspw. wieder eine Retrospektive mit Regisseur Ivan Reitman und Schauspieler Dan Aykroyd, entfallene Szenen und das Musikvideo "On Our Own" von Bobby Brown. Deutsche Untertitel liegen vor.Das Reboot:Die beiden Filme haben 2016 einen Neustart erhalten: "Ghostbusters" nur mit Frauen als Geisterjäger, u. a. Melissa McCarthy und Kristen Wiig. Chris Hemsworth spielt den Telefonisten. Der Film ist tricktechnisch viel weiter und weiß auch zu begeistern. Den neuen "Ghostbusters" kann man gleich mitbestellen, es lohnt sich. Gibt es auch hier in einer 3-Disc-Edition zusammen mit den beiden Originalfilmen.Fazit:Die beiden Original-"Ghostbusters"-Filme sind einfach absoluter Kult! Wie die Ghostbusters wie Feuerwehrmänner auf ihre Einsätze ausziehen, ist genial in Szene gesetzt. Die Filme haben alles, was coole Komödien haben müssen: Humor, etwas Action und viele neue Ideen! Der Titelsong von Teil 1, "Ghostbusters", von Ray Parker Jr. wurde richtig erfolgreich und gibt dem Film Vortrieb. "Ghostbusters II" fällt etwas hinter "Ghostbusters" zurück, wo der erste Film sehr gut ist, ist der zweite Film lediglich gut. Auch schade, dass die Extras zum zweiten Teil so mau sind. Das hätte eigentlich nicht sein müssen. Ich kann die Filme allen Freunden skurriler Komödien empfehlen, die sich nicht von dem einen oder anderen Horroreffekt verschrecken lassen. Klare fünf von fünf Sternen als Wertung!
