Fantastic quality and price. Would recommend these guitars!
This guitar comes securely packaged in polystyrene shaped to fit the guitar and then inside a sturdy box. It comes with a lead and an allen key (no strap). Needed a slight tune out the box and it was ready to play. It looks gorgeous and sounds great. Played it for about 3 weeks and its only needed re-tune once in that time so has held tune very well! It's a solid build with a good quality finish. Nice and easy to play with a low action. It has a 3 position switch. 2 volume controls and 2 tone controls. It's quite weighty but nothing ridiculous. Overall a fantastic guitar with great functionality aswell as looks! Very happy with purchase. I would recommend to others and buy again!

Lovely guitar
Lovely guitar. I think this guitar is worth every penny: it looks beautiful and plays beautifully straight from the box. Amazing guitar for me.

Good guitar for the money BUT.
Great guitar for the money I have owned 2 Gibson Les Paul's in the past and this guitar is as good as or even better with regard to looks, finish and playability for a fraction of the price but, there are three things to be aware of for anybody who is thinking of buying one. 1. The bridge pickup ring is fitted the wrong way around which causes the pickup to tilt unnatural into the centre of the guitar. This is easily fixed by loosening the strings and removing the four fixing screws and turning the ring into proper position. 2. The dimension of the guitar body is smaller by 3/4 inch when compared to a Gibson. It should be 18 inches which is actually in the the specs on the Leo jaymz website. This is not going to be a problem for most people but if you need to fit a bigsby trem like I wanted to it's a no no. 3. The last problem is more serious, when you select both pickups together then roll off the volume for the bridge the neck cuts out completely, also in the centre position both volume knobs some how does something not quite right with regard to the treble at the top and bottom end of the dial. To fix this I am going to fit a new wiring harness with larger 500k pots which will make the guitar even more comparable to a Gibson.

Great price
Very nice guitar well made well set up plays well sounds good looks amazing I recommend changing the strings as the supplied ones are not the best everything else was better than expected

Great quality instrument for the price.
Absolutely astounded by how good this was pretty much straight out of the box, neck was straight, intonation was spot on, no sharp fret ends, all the frets were level and well polished, all I did was to lower the action by half a turn on the saddle to my own liking, tuned it up and it was good to go, nicely rounded sound from the pickups too. This is the second guitar I've bought from Leo jaymz, I also got the Monsoon, same thing applies. Two very nice guitars. The big names should definitely be looking over their shoulders if this kind of quality is what we can expect from these guys. Don't hesitate! If you're tempted, just get one.🤘

The guitar won't play well out of the box.
This guitar has loads of potential if you can do setup work yourself. I have spent about an hour seating, filing fret ends smooth and polishing the frets also setting the truss rod correctly. After I finished the instrument plays like it was 10 times the price. So in all a very good guitar if you can as I said do the work yourself.

Worth the money
The guitar is worth the money, it was set up o.k. out of the box but the fretboard needed oiling and better strings helped. If you are buying as an upgrade project , my experience on 2 guitars was that the finish isn't great : one had very little flame on half the guitar and the second had lacquer blemishes on the front. Overall I was pleased with the value for money, but the YouTube reviews are well over the top. It's a good low end guitar to summarise, just don't get carried away.

Leo Jaymz SC style guitar - I had been looking at these guitars for quite a while. When I saw the guitar on Amazon most recently - just before Christmas - the one I ordered (Green/Black) was on sale. This was the time! Despite a few reviews that were not terribly complementary, the positive reviews outweighed the less positive ones by a big margin - besides, I saw an interview with Leo Jaymz on YouTube and was impressed with what he wanted to do insofar as building and selling guitars. Given that the guitar had travelled a long distance, I did have a bit of a concern re damage, however, when I lifted the lid on the box and saw the very substantial Styrofoam inner packing my concerns were substantially lessened. When I did pull the guitar out of the heavy-duty bag, I was extremely pleased with the look and finish of the guitar. I then examined the frets and the tuners. The frets were finished beautifully. No sharp edges and they were chamfered nicely along the side of the fretboard. I could comfortably run my fingers up and down the neck. The tuners were solid and there was no wobbling of the turnkeys. The bridge and tailpiece were also better than expected. Ok, time to plug it in! WOW! Fantastic tone. Straight neck and the action is very nice. The pots all seemed solid and worked as they were supposed to. I was even prepared to change the strings immediately, but I didn’t. The guitar sounds great and looks great - 100% happy. Can’t wait to show to the folks in my band. For me; truly a 5/5. Thanks Leo Jaymz.

I got this as a Father's Day present (from my wishlist) I watched about a dozen review videos about it and the evolution of the guitar over the last few years and it really seemed like a good option for a 53 year old beginner like myself. First off, this is an absolutely gorgeous guitar. The finish on mine is flawless. And the color is amazing. I would expect this to cost about $500 more than the $189 paid. And it feels like a quality piece. No sharp frets. The fretboard was perfectly level. I can't find any problems with the frets. The do need to be polished, but I'm swapping out the strings and will oil the fretboard as well. I plan on upgrading the nut as well. It sounds like I expected. I'm not a professional, I'm still learning. So, for me, it sounds like an electric guitar. I tuned it up and started playing comfortably right off the bat. It will need some fine tuning. And I recommend having someone set it up if you don't know how. I'm very excited about this guitar. It has exceeded my expectations.

I'm reading some of the reviews and glad I didn't listen to some one offs. This is a solid guitar at this price range! I had an Epiphone 'similiar' model which didn't compare. Sorry never a Gibson owner because of the price! I'm not knocking Gibson or Les Paul but you charge way too much for your guitars! I'll start with the CONS: First, you have to know how to setup your guitar. If not have a local tech do. Should be less than $100 or learn yourself. Slight fret buzz but not bad (some metal shavings came off from the dremel polishing), lowered the action, the strings were fine (.10s I think) if I could salvage them. But cut em. Polish the frets, oil the fretboard, check your truss rod (mine didn't need adjusting)!! Check your intonation in case. This all goes for a $3000 guitar too ya know!! USA driven, China manufactured, to check for QA. PROs: This has become my new favorite guitar! It's beautiful! The hardware, body is solid, pickups, pots, detail, all good. Heavy but what a quality tone. Excellent! If you have an issue out of the box I expect good things from Leo support, didnt need yet. Please dont dissapoint Leo service! Play through some 'decent gear' and it sounds bright, vivid, loud, beautiful. Overall: Impressed does not explain my first reaction. I bought the Tempest model because I am just overall curious about Leo design, quality, and beauty at this price point! I expect this guitar to remain one of my favs! Update Mar31st - Needed to order a new bridge since E, B were rocking and loose. Asked LJ for support. They offered $20 to replace the bridge. Ok so I did. Next purchase I may send back to Amazon if it has issues. Leo Jaymz support is all email. Support lacks a decent response and time. A live person would be nice too! Add 4-28 Also bought the US Flag guitar. Needed the nut raised slightly. Put some thin double adhesive under it, glued it back in. It's a cheap nut unfortunately but works. Got the annoying mysterious buzz out and action lowered more too. Now it rocks! Still the bridge is cheap and will replace. These things setup right are hard to beat for this price. Sounds amazing!

I own 27 guitars ranging from expensive ones to $400 ones so I have a lot to compare this Leo Jaymz cheap guitar to. I didn't own a red colored Les Paul style, so when I saw this one it caught my eye. The reviews were all pretty positive, and the price was so cheap that I was reluctant to try it for fear you get what you pay for and I didn't need a piece of wall art, I wanted another Les Paul to use for clean tones. The reviews I read indicated this guitar did clean tones well but didn't do Metal well, which was fine by me. So I decided to buy it and if it turned to be a cheap, crappy guitar, then returning it to Amazon isn't a problem. Well the reviews I read were accurate. Firstly, the guitars fit and finish appears to be flawless. The red stain/paint is very nice looking, you can see the grain of the Maple veneer top nicely, not visible in the picture however. The grain isnt spectacular but nice looking just the same. The binding on the body and neck is done very well and overall, this guitar looks fantastic. The neck is very narrow and feels small in my hand and I like that, so it's a positive for me. The fret board is nicely done, it could use a little bit more finishing to make smoother but a month or so playing it will take care of that. The frets are decent, but I had to file 3 slightly sharp edges. It wasn't so bad that it would cut me or anything but I could feel the burr on the metal. It only took a couple minutes to do myself. I used the fret rocker to check for level, found three frets that had either one side or middle being a touch high. I used an appropriate fret hammer to give the frets a couple taps and it's all level now, that took about 10 minutes to check and level. The action height was good right out of the box. A lot of more expensive guitars come with higher action than this one just to avoid buzzing so they don't get returned, but this one was set pretty low with no buzzing. The set up was good right out of the box, neck relief, action height, pickup height and intonation was all set well. The Nut appears to be cut well and height is good. I'm not clear on what material it's made of but there's no sticking strings so I have no plans to change it. I couldn't find anything wrong with the tuners, no sloppiness and they seem to work as good as anything I've used. I don't know about how they'll survive the test of time, obviously, but I have no plans to replace them now as there's no need. I removed the backing plate to look at the potentiometers and wiring. It's what you'd expect to find on a guitar at this price point. They are the dime sized pots and wires looked cheap. Soldering looked fine. That being said, the pots function well, with nice even adjustment right from 1 to 10 with no touchy spots or spots that do nothing. The tone of the guitar cleans up well with lowering the volume too, so no need to change these pots. The selector switch is quiet and works fine, although I suspect it and the jack are cheap and probably will become a problem at some point in the future. The pickups are better than I had expected. Like I said, I bought this guitar to play clean tones primarily as I have several real and fake Les Paul's to play the harder tones. The neck pickup impresses me more than the bridge. The neck and middle selection provides a nice sound from this guitar. The Bridge pickup isn't bad either but not as good as the neck. I have several Chibsons, and they too surprised me in how well they were made, especially for the price. But ultimately I had to spend as much or more as the purchase price on them to upgrade the bolt on parts to get those guitars in a condition I wanted. This Leo Jaymz however, will not require any additional investment other than strings to bring it into a condition that I want, it meets my expectations as is, with the new strings of course. Not to say you couldn't upgrade it, like the pots, maybe add an orange drop capacitor would probably help, and upgrade the jack & selector too. The bridge pickup is a maybe to replace but pickups are a personal taste and maybe in time I will switch it out. Overall, this guitar is excellent for a beginner, great for an intermediate player and okay for a seasoned player. It's well worth the money, so I would recommend trying it out and if you aren't happy with it, it's not an issue with Amazon, but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with how good this guitar is.

Bought one of these before and had to return it due to numerous defects and damages, but this one I ordered turned out perfect. I cant find really anything wrong with it. Basically mint condition and set up well out of the box. No sharp frets, tuners work, knobs work, electronics work as they should. I'll lower the strings a bit but that's no biggie. The only thing was it smelled a lot like chemicals after unboxing it so I just let it air out for several days in a well ventilated room. I got Matte Black, and it's sexy af. Well suited for classic rock and such, not so much for cleaner more precise tones you would normally use a strat for, but it can still accomplish some of that. Well done Leo Jaymz. 5/5
