Ordered because seller confirmed memory function here but my evidently does not and start with first setting when replugged, why?

I am super annoyed too! I like to set my lights on an auto timer to go off before dawn and no matter what I do it always comes back on as flashing strobe light effect. Not what I want to wake up to at 5:30 a.m.
