Feng Shui is NEVER meant to substitute hard work, efforts, intelligence and honesty. It is supposed to supplement it. Most importantly, you need to HAVE FAITH, have RIGHT (GOOD) INTENTIONS, and do your due diligence (in following the book and keeping up with your real life efforts) before even opening this book. Without these three, there will be no results. Trying to summarize some key points here to give you an idea what to expect. 1. Is it OVERLY SIMPLE? Yes. Does that mean it is "shallow"? NO! 2. Does this book tell you about bringing in some talisman/ charm in your home to change your luck? NO. Does this help you create a harmonious, balanced living space? YES. 3. Does this book suggests a lot of purchasing? Not a lot, some. It has many solutions/ alternatives for not having something specific. 4. Does this work? YES. In our experience this book did work and in a matter of less than few months. Don't expect the book to turn your life around in matter of hours (some examples in there suggest it). Things WILL change, but not like a magic wand. I believe the intentions are to make you aware of what changes you need in your life and keeping you motivated and focused towards achieving those goals. As long as you stay on track with your efforts, this book will help you harness the universal energy (Chi) to fulfill your dreams. CAUTION: Please do not start changing things around (especially, DO NOT BUY STUFF as enhancements), until you fully understand the concept, the symbolism, the Yin-and-Yang (balance). It is simple, but there is a lot of it, and misinterpreting things is common. We first misidentified one of the guas and were perking it up all wrong. Eventually we did get it right and then it worked. You can start with the section you need utmost help with (money, love, family, etc.), but remember to create a balanced living space eventually, with all of the 9 sections balancing each other. Without that balance, things may not work as they should. We read and re-read the book and discovered how much we missed out when we first read and also how much did we misinterpret. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Karen is funny, witty, and very relatable. She does bring Feng Shui to her readers as a fun, light read rather than taking a serious tone. Some don't like it, but the way I see is Feng Shui is complex, and the deeper you delve, the more there is to find, which only adds to confusion. This simplified version is much better to follow (and it works!). I personally like fun way of teaching, helping people remember well. Lastly, if you do not like to keep your home clean, stay away from this book. The cardinal rule of Feng Shui is to have a clean, clutter free house (getting rid of literal, figurative and emotional clutter). It will be a herculean task (depending upon the state of your home), but it's awesome at the end. You will be amazed how many of the things we have in our home that are 'dead energy' and are actually holding us back. Feng Shui is all about this cleanse! Review: Easy practical with insightful content ! - Very easy to read and practical guide to Feng Shui. My sister got this book from a friend and she shared it with me and I found it was very straightforward easy to follow . I like that she has a intuitive approach giving you ideas but letting you use your own sense of decorating style to achieve balance and harmony . I've only read one other book on the subject which tended to be more complicated and too much to read, so I lost interest . So far I can't say any miracles have happened however my sister has been trying to sell her house for quite some time and since applying some of these techniques she has already had several interested parties. One thing that is really significant about this book and sets it apart is that she really dives deeper into exploring what might be holding you back.emotional baggage is usually represented by material objects , taking a look at the stuff you're holding onto and how that can be hindering you can be extremely enlightening and freeing As I went through each section of the bagua it helps you unclutter and really take a look at your space and some of the junk that we carry around with us that may or may not be affecting our mental and emotional well being and growth. The house I live in is a semi circular shaped home so I'm concentrating on the rooms that I spend the most time in like with any metaphysical practice I think it's mostly focus. focusing your intent and giving the areas of your life that need improvement attention if you're going to read one book on feng shui this is where I would start .

Simplified Feng Shui that works
Feng Shui literally means "wind and water", and it is an ancient Chinese culture/ school (whatever you want to call it) that is followed to bring peace, balance and harmony to your life and home. Fantastic read!
As a home organizer, I am always looking for ways to help clients, and this is BY FAR my favorite book on organizing in small, easy steps. It is fun, informative, entertaining, and a very eye-opening look into the world of Feng Shui. I will be recommending this to my clients, and it will be stashed in my decluttering bag as a reference book. LOVE this book, and would by it again, 100%!

Best Feng Shui Book I've Read!
"Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life" is the best feng shui booked I've read to date. Most books on this topic are bland and difficult to get through, but "Move Your Stuff..." is easy to read and understand, and includes some humor as well. This book will take you on a journey of sorts, looking inside yourself to determine what areas of your life either are, or are not, working for you - so you know which areas of your home to focus on first. It also gives a great explanation of feng shui and the various "bagua" components (like prosperity, family, career, creativity and children, helpful people and more). It also provides great feng shui "cures" for all sorts of potential problems, using things that you can easily purchase (or may already have in the home). This book uses the "Black Hat" approach to feng shui (apparently there are a few different types of feng shui out there). I will be reading about the American Syle next so that I can see how they differ (when I review that book, I'll explain any differences between the two feng shui styles). Overall, I would highly recommend this book for anyone interested in feng shui'ing their home - however, I would suggest taking notes, as there's a lot of information packed in these pages!

So well written and easy to follow. Great, practical tips and just enough amount of humour throughout the book.
