hi yes the material strap length 60 ins. let say your waist is only 54 ins. here is what you do, the buckle underline is built with a saw like teeth, that is secured down to hold the fiber material secure, all you do is raise the metal teeth clamp; under the back of the buckle, slide out the materal cut it to your desire length, for you cut 6inches, now the length is 54 ecactly, when you turn the buckle underside you will be able to see how it easily is designed to hold and release the buckle to the material strap, so easy you will smile to yourself.
