If you want sound that you can enjoy, while away from your desk, and without headphones, speakers are the only option. Enjoy, is a good word. Now, we are talking about sound quality. All sound, is not quality sound. Not Having to rely on Headphones, to Enjoy your Media, is another Enhancement, to Your Desktop Set-up. Your Set-up may not be Complete, without a Pair of Quality Speakers. These Hecate G2000 Speaker, can do more than, Deliver Great Sound. It is True. We are looking for Great Sound. But, with These Speakers, Great Sound, is just a Start. You will also be ae to Enjoy Multiple Features , which give the User, an Enhanced Experience, not just about Sound. How about Connectivity. You may only need to Connect using One Method. To be sure you get Connected, The Edifier Speakers, allow you to choose, from Three Different Methods. This Means, These Speakers, are Versatile. Also, Aesthetically, Hecate G2000's, have an Enhancement Ability. To Really Increase the Level of you Set-up, Aesthetically You can Light Your Set-up Environment, with RGB Light, Built into The Speakers Themselves. There are Several Modes, in which to choose from. About Sound, and Modes. There are Three, Sound Modes, To Enhance The Type of Audio, you are, Enjoying. One Feature, Not Realized, at First, is the Upgrade, and Further Enhancement, by Adding A Subwoofer. So, There is an Upgrade Path. There is a Provision for This Addition, and Allows you to Upgrade now, or in the Future.CONS:These Speakers, are More Powerful, than First thought. There are Times During the Day, you may forced to turn down the volume, or put Headphones back on. The Sound Quality, and Depth of Bass, even without the Addition of a Subwoofer, may not be conducive to Listening, at Those Hours, when others may complain.

I've had (and still have) several Edifier products and I find them to be a good mid-range choice. A mid mid-range choice. There are more and less expensive devices in this range and these are in the middle. The sound is very clear and distinct. The size is compact enough to fit on even a slightly cluttered desk and the design (not just a plain square or rectangle), gives them a bit of style. Highly balanced to the higher end, which is not surprising given their size (and price). They can also get *very* loud. Probably louder than you'll ever want. Given their higher end balance, it's a bit sharp at very high volumes. One of the nice things, however, is that these have a dedicated subwoofer output. If you have a subwoofer lying around, you'll be much happier. I don't, so I couldn't test them. Would you buy a subwoofer just to use with these speakers...? I doubt it. All the controls and interfaces, including power, are on the left speaker. There is a generously long, although not removable, cord between the two speakers. Sound inputs are 3.5mm aux, USB and Bluetooth 5.1. Selectable from the multi-function switches on the left speaker. A good set of inputs that should satisfy most uses that anyone purchasing this set of speakers would be using.There are three preset sound modes (Game, Movie and Music) selectable using one of the multi-function switches on the left speaker. There are also RGB lights, with 12 different settings (colors, pulsing, blinking, off, etc) on the back and sides of each speaker. They are not bright, but give a gentle glow. There is no way to adjust the brightness and they do not respond to the music. That would have been a nice touch.All in all, a good general purpose desktop and gaming speaker with a bit of pizazz. The list price seems a bit high and you might want to wait until their on sale. That aside, recommended as a well made, attractive set of speakers with some good functionality.

I'm glad I got introduced to Edifier. I'm learning that they make some great products and I've been impressed with their range of items...now adding their gaming speakers to the list. Hecate G2000 are nice. They offer a really solid sound output in a small pairing of desktop speakers. The design is really cool in that there's three light displays on each speaker (though it would have been nice if the RGB lighting was in the front as well) that you can scroll through colors that remain solid or fade in out (solid or color changing).You have multiple ways to connect (AUX port, USB and Bluetooth), so you have options of your source of sound and/or gameplay. Then there's the sound. You'll definitely get crisp highs and clear mids. The bass is present too thanks to the ported box design. It's not room shattering bass, but you can hear the rumbles that you'd expect as well as the boom-baps you'd expect, along with the kicks.Overall, a solid pair of desktop speakers that are compact yet powerful.
