Effective and palatable
Cats are notorious for urinary tract issues. One of my cats was experiencing discolored urine. I started feeding her this and her urine is clear again. She is a picky eater and was very happy with the change in food. I changed my other three cats to this same formula and they all love it.

Inexpensive and worth it if your cat gets urinary crystals.
This cat food has literally saved my cat's life. He is prone to getting crystals and they block his urinary tract. He was on a prescription only diet food prior to switching to this more affordable option. This food not only saved my cat's life, but saves me money too! It is quality food that has low odor and his breath doesn't smell as bad as compared to other "cheap" cat foods out there. This is a crunchy kibbel that runs about the size of your pinky nail. My cat has so much energy after fueling up on this quality urinary tract food.

Pro Plan has been excellent cat food for our "big girl"
Due to our cat having had 2 urinary tract infections within 6 months, and inability to obtain a urine sample at the follow up appt. to the second infection, it was recommended that our cat switch from the senior, indoor, turkey and rice formula to an adult urinary tract formula. We told the vet that we’d been using Pro Plan and she confirmed that this is a good cat food. We added this new formula to her prior Pro Plan food in increasing amounts for about two weeks. Our 19 lb. cat (not fat, just a big girl) had no problem switching Pro Plan formulas, so we are pleased. For the second vet's appt. we had brought our cat in because of lack of bowel movement for 2 days. The vet (who could feel multiple little round feces) said that a cat with a urinary tract infection will often be uncomfortable or in pain when trying to pass feces and thus will not have the bowel movement. She recommended using a urinary tract food. As without the urine sample, it couldn't be determined whether or not her infection had been cured, the vet gave her a 2nd long lasting antibiotic injection, in addition to stool softener medication. Our only concern is that the Pro Plan urinary tract formula doesn’t address hair balls. Since the repeat of the urinary tract infection is the greater concern, we decided to put her on and keep her on the Urinary Tract formula. Later my husband read on line that some vets recommend adding soft food/food with liquid to the diet to help reduce constipation, so we decided to try this also. We supplemented her dry food with a soft dinner with gravy, but giving the "meal" to her in 1/4 portions for 4 days of treats. As she'll lick the gravy but refuse to eat the soft chunks, we puree one meal and gravy, give her 1/4 of it, and refrigerate the rest. We microwave the other portions before serving them, as the warmth is more appetizing and should help to relax muscles for easier passing of feces. She gobbles her “treat” up, even sitting by her dry cat food during the day, hoping to get more of the pureed stuff (which has duck in it), although she also likes the Pro Plan. Since the medicine, and diet change, our cat has been fine. We’ve been very satisfied with the Purina Pro Plan Urinary Tract formula cat food and previously had been quite pleased with the Pro Plan turkey and rice indoor formula for adult cats. Prior to using the Pro Plan we had used another brand that vets recommend and sell. I must say that our cat did (and does) much better on the Pro Plan than she did on that other name brand cat food. My only regret is not having switched to Pro Plan sooner.

WARNING: FORMULA CHANGED! CAUSED DIGESTIVE & SKIN ISSUES!
Our 10 year old, male neutered cat was put on this food in 2013 after a urinary blockage nearly took his life. We were so relieved to have found a quality food that could help him and he had no problems on it...until 2019. First it started with inappropriate pooping on our beds, which we chalked up to behavioral issues because we traveled a lot. Then it was vomiting maybe once a week, okay, probably hairball issues or eating too fast. We added canned pumpkin and Miralax to his diet, which seemed to help the constipation. We bought a slow feeder bowl which helped the vomiting a bit. Then early 2020, our beautiful cat develops very itchy skin to the point where he is scratching himself bald on his head and behind his ears. We took him to the vet who could see no reason for the issue, but put gave him a steroid to help the inflammation. It helped for about a week, then everything came right back. We were pulling our hair out, trying to figure out what had changed and blaming ourselves for not being able to help our boy. Then it dawned on us while searching for a different cat food and reading reviews that cat food companies change their formulas without notice (Corn Gluten Meal is now Ingredient #1)! We searched the reviews for this food and found another customer who had figured this out. The mystery was solved! We are so excited to get our cat off this food, and are furious that it has been poisoning our cat for months now and making his life miserable! And to charge more for an inferior product is absolutely everything that is wrong with corporate greed! I am so sick of companies like Purina putting profits over pets. How many pets have been harmed by your products? How dare you pretend to care!I hope my review can help other cat owners dealing with similar issues to realize, it’s not you and it’s not your cat. It’s Purina!! The sooner you get your cat off this food, the better!!
