Case-Mate Barely There Case for Samsung Galaxy S3 - Black

I went a few months without a case and the whole time I had this ominous feeling that I was going to drop my new Samsung Galaxy S III. The phone is so slippery that one-handed operation is risky. This case has a matte black finish that adds just enough texture to make the phone feel secure in one hand. The finish also hides finger prints, so I don't feel like I always have to wipe it down (well, the back at least).One concern I had about getting a case was making the phone any thicker since the giant phone slips into my front pocket just fine without one. Although any case is going to add thickness, this one is thin enough that the phone is more evident but still sufficiently unobtrusive so I don't resent the case.Another concern I had was compatibility with the Military Shield screen protector. Neither the case vendor nor the Military Shield people could confirm for me that the combination would work. It turns out that it does work. I think this case would be compatible with just about any screen protector since it doesn't touch any part of the front of the phone.This case solved another annoying problem I was having with my Samsung Galaxy S3 - accidental volume rocker activation. All too frequently I would grab my phone in a way that would make the volume shoot to full blast, making me have to rip the ear buds out of my head before I went deaf. With this case, the buttons are recessed and I don't have that problem at all anymore.I strongly recommend this case!

The Case-Mate Barely There case fits the phone snugly without any wiggles and wraps around the edges just enough to provide some minor level of edge protection along the sides, but not the top and bottom. The edges give some tiny bit of bezel around the face of the phone, but I highly doubt it would protect the screen at all. The camera window, LED flash, and speaker in back are also offered some scratch protection as the case is thick enough to recess them slightly. The case has a mild rubberized feel that gives a much improved grip on the phone in my opinion, but is not tacky enough to snag on fabric or pick up lint. Cut-outs for the power button, volume rocker, Micro USB, and headphone jack are accurately placed and generous enough to allow quick access. Overall, it adds about 1.5 millimeters of thickness to the Galaxy S3 and I can barely notice the difference in my pocket. I was looking for a case to improve the texture of the phone as the first thing I noticed about the S3 is how smooth and slippery it is. This case does just that and I think it is a good one for the money.

I'm updating my previous review for this case. Originally, I put this case on my S3 and it did not fit correctly -- same as some other reviewers have noted.However, I think I have discovered why it wasn't a good fit the first time.I took off the back cover of the S3, and put this case directly in place of the back cover, instead of the back cover. Everything fits snugly. This is how was designed to be put on. Solved the problem totally.Nice rubberized finish on the back prevents the phone from slipping out of your hand. Buttons on the side are easily accessible, but not accidentally touched. I have dropped the phone a couple of times due to user error, but this case worked. The plastic is impact resistant and will not crack or come off like some other cases.

Good looking case that matches the slim, sleek look of the phone. Slides in and out of a purse pocket easily when you are in a hurry. Does not provide a lot of protection but knew this before I bought it. Not a bad price either.

I was looking for a case that didn't add more bulk to my Samsung Galaxy 3. I found it here. Slips in and out of my pocket with ease.feels great in my hand and protects the edges. The only Cons I have is it makes getting to the side button a bit challenging but I learned to use the center button to acces the phone after it has gone idol. Great find if you ask me.

It fits great. Has a matte finish that doesn't feel sticky or slick. It doesn't show fingerprints or get greasy like some of the other rubberized type of cases, which is what I first had. It adds very little to the thickness of the phone which also means you can't expect it to protect the phone from drops or abuse. Get the huge Otter Box type if you want to have an almost indestructible phone.

Case looks very sharp! My son loves it...despite the fact that it picks up fingerprints like a CSI agent!I'm a little worried, however, because the case does not fully cover the top or bottom of the phone nor does it extend past the front edge of the phone. When they say "barely there," they mean it! :)

While this case is very sleek and slim, I feel it does not fully protect the top and bottom parts of the phone. However, if you are looking for a very slim case to match your very slim SGS3, this is definitely the one you want. It is sturdy and very easy to put on.

Nice soft touch and has easy access to all of the buttons. I Would defiantly recommend this to anyone. There could have been a bit more coverage across the top and bottom.

This case is very tight and it is difficult to insert or remove phone.

Looks metallic. gives a sleek finish. something to cover your phone with than letting it get scratches. But has a very poor plastic finish. Does not look plastic when seen from far.

Had a flexible Case-Mate cover on a HTC, so was happy with their products.This is easy enough to fit, and gives to access to all the buttons, charge point, and camera.The cover comes with a matt finish, but this is in the process of peeling off.It's leaving the case with a more polished finish, which looks better.In the meantime, it looks a little tatty.Pros:Easy to fit.Good solid case.Cons:Matt finish peels off, but it is going to leave a polished finish.Overall:I'm happy with the cover.
