Good value and perfect for introducing kids to shakespeare

Really loved this version of the 16 Shakespeare tales involved. Bought as a present for 3 young sisters to share. I was bought Lamb's tales from Shakespeare as a small child ... but these are such fun and adjusted to children of today.

I initially bought these books to read to children but ended up being engrossed myself.A great way to learn Shakespeare without deciphering all the old language.It gives you a great background if you want to delve deeper into actual Shakespeare books.

I bought these at the request of my nine year old as he read some at school. They are very easy to read and give a good overview of what Shakespeare was writing about. The set was good value. I'm not sure what age group they are aimed at but I believe they are aimed more at 6 - 8 year olds. I gave it 4 stars as i hoped for a bit more depth for my 9 and 11 year old. If they were younger I would give it 5 stars.

I like it

The comedies are great for 6yrs+, the others for older children. Really accessible. We will read again and again, until out LO is old enough to self read at this level.

Great value for money. Super books, really enjoyed by my Year 1 - 2 class. Wonderful initial introduction to Shakespeare for them all.

Brilliant series. My 6 year old loves them. They support her school drama lesson and are specifically aimed at children, using langue they understand but provoking questions about vocabulary and classic stories. I would highly recommend these books.

These books are the perfect length. They give you the main parts without bogging you down. Plan to use them in my Special Ed classroom.

As an educator, I’ve used this book set many times with students who require a modified curriculum. Each novella provides the important info of each Shakespeare story, but in an easy to understand language. It’s also a great introduction for young ones who love to read, and want a sample of Shakespeare. Great addition to any home/classroom library.
