Can this heater be Hard Wired with 12/2 Wire?

This specific model isn't 110V, but you can wire 240V with 12/2 wire as well (don't need to use 12/3). The key thing is that you handle the load appropriately and identify that the white wire is being used as a hot by putting a black stripe on it with tape or heat shrink. 12/2 is rated for 20 Amps, so at 240V you can handle a max load of 4800W. You shouldn't plan to use this max in your circuit, but if you're only connection one of these at 2000W you are well under that 4800W number.

How many square feet will it heat?

Rule of thumb for space heating is for every 10 watts of heater, it will do 1 square foot of room. In this case, this 1500 watt heater would be sized for a 150 square foot room.

Right about 200 square feet if you’re looking at the 2,000 watt heater or 150 square feet if you’re looking at the 1500 watt heater. If you take your square feet and times it by 10 that is how many watts you need to heat that area with electric heat. 1 watt equals 3.413 btu. A 1,500 watt heater is around 5,000 btus
