Men's Hurricane XLT2 Sport Sandal

I've been wearing the similarly designed Teva for 25+ years. These are my primary footwear in summer, so they get a lot of use. These sandals are great. They are comfortable, durable, and priced well (they seem to go on sale at least once or twice a year). My sandals typically last about ~5 years. YMMV. I do wish they still made the model with the buckle. With velcro, the fit is slightly different every time. It's a very small inconvenience, but it's there. Overall, I'm a very satisfied customer.

Comparing the this sandal (TEVA Men's Hurricane Xlt2 Sandals) with the Hurricane drift. This shoe is currently slightly more expensive between the two and understandably so. First of all, my son is a lifeguard and spends a lot of time in shallow water, his crocs banged up his feet with blisters on his first day of the summer, perhaps they are too tight. I ordered these two pairs of sandals to choose one to wear instead as they look like they have better support for the sole of the foot when standing all day and fit closer to the foot so there shouldn’t be so much movement or friction. Hurricane (not this shoe) This Sandal is the one on the left on the picture, it is made out of a rubber material similar to crocs but thicker. The strap across the ankle has a more flexible feel to the material than the rest of the shoe, for comfort and durability. You cannot adjust the fit of the straps so if the strap is too tight or too loose, it can’t be adjusted. He finds the shoe very comfortable. Both shoes have the same sole in terms of size, fit and even treads, but this shoe is made of rubber so is much lighter. Completely waterproof. Hurricane XIt2 (this shoe). This is the shoe being reviewed here and the one on the right and the one by itself. This shoe has a heavier duty rubber sole, making is a little heavier but still light. The straps are typical of Teva sandals, more like a stiff waterproof fabric feel and every strap adjusts with velco. This allows a custom fit but my son finds parts of the Velcro digs in unless you have the perfect lined up seal. This shoe also has a comfort padded strap at the heal. More cumbersome to get on with the Velcro long strap. Verdict For my son’s lifeguard needs or a water/beach shoe we would pick the Hurricane rubber shoe. For hiking or wading through a river I’d pick this shoe, Hurricane XIt2 has more of a hiking weight and feel to the sole and the adjustable straps are helpful for that use. For my son, the less expensive rubber shoe is the clear winner. More comfortable and less fussy and nothing to dry on it. I will also be putting this review on the other shoe reviews with a close up picture of that shoe. In terms of fit, it’s quite a wide fit and a typical size 9. Both soles are the same size and in each design other than material. Both great sandals, for slightly different needs although both would work in water. Hope this helps someone out.

These Teva Hurricane sandals are very good shoes. The construction is durable with the straps going all the way under and through the center, connecting to the other end. They're very comfortable and adjust nicely to fit. I have tried other brands that have big pillow foot beds but they never last and they're not any more comfy than these things.

Good sandal, more comfy than the Teva water sandal. Used it for 2 years a few times a week. Alas, when I took them to the Balkans, the sandals didn't handle balkan rocks and hot concrete, and became unglued.

I bought a total of four pair of sandals before a major trip that was going to include a lot of walking. This is the pair that ended up on my feet for 90% of the trip. Other sandals can be a little brutal to the top of your foot or your ankles or your heel or something when worn for extended hikes and such. Not these. They are durable and incredibly comfortable

Disclaimer: I love Teva sandals. I love how they look and feel. Of the various lines the company makes, the Hurricane is my favorite. If you're in the market for a sport/adventure sandal, it's hard to not recommend the Hurricane XLT2. Comfortable, easy to clean, and require very little break-in. As I said, I love Teva sandals, I've got many pairs. Universal, Universal Trail, Hurricane XLT, Terra Fi. The Hurricane XLT2 is the best. It's effectively a slightly softer, pared-down Terra Fi 5. The tread on the soles is aggressive, much more so than on the Universals, but not as thick or heavy as the Terra Fi. The footbed is soft like the Universals, and the straps (with adjustable back strap) are identical. You don't get the neoprene lining of the Terra Fi, or the Vibram sole of the Universal Trail, but what you do get is a sandal that is very hard to beat in terms of price and overall comfort. The XLT2 is well-suited for everyday walking, day hikes, as well as water activities. Like with most Teva sandals, I'd recommend going down at least one size. They tend to run large, and the XLT2 is no exception. I normally wear a size 10, so I went with size 9 and the fit is perfect. The sandals are also easy to keep clean, and dry quickly. For $70, these are hard to beat. I recommend them to anyone in the market for sandals.

Well, I would never think I would become a Teva sandals fan. Never wore sandals before, nor flip flops, but only sports shoes. I always had prejudice opinion about sandals because they looked odd., nerdy and out of place. I never understood why people would wear these shoes, but heck, I changed my mind. It was when I was in shoe store and I decided to try them on out of curiosity – why do people wear them? First, I tried the Teva Terra fi 4 model. After walking a few steps inside the shoe store, I completely changed my mind and became an avid Teva sandals man. Yes, they still look odd, the sole is bulky and quite nerdy, but when you put them on and walk with them, the sandals do not feel as they look. They are so comfortable, the sole Is so soft and you do not feel the straps because they are padded. You need to try them out in order to understand this. The sandals do not feel like you are wearing sandals, unless you are looking at your feet, and I decide that I did not care about their looks or what would other would think of them and me wearing them. I understand now why people wear them, so I decide to buy the Terra fi 4 (blue size 9) that were at a discount at the shoe store. I can recommend to anyone who hesitates about Teva sandals to try on first the Teva Terra fi 4 model and you will never go back to wearing shoes in the summer. They cost more than other Teva models, but if you can find them at a discount, they worth any penny. Second, I tried the Hurricane XLT2 model. This model does not have a padded straps, they don’t have a bulky sole, and the sole is not soft as the Terra fi 4 model. They do feel different on the feet, but again when you put them on and walk with them, the sandals do not feel as they look (odd and nerdy) but a proper summer open shoe and you can forget after a while that you are wearing sandals on your feet. Even for the Hurricane XLT2 model, I can recommend to anyone who hesitates about Teva sandals to try them on and you will never go back to wearing shoes in the summer. Now I am thinking that after my good experience with these 2 models that they should be more popular and common in the summer. I bought the Hurricane XLT2 from Amazon after I found them in a discount (brown, size 9). If you are convinced, try first the Terra fi 4 (i think today there is a newer model - Terra fo 5 universal) they will win your heart, but the e Hurricane XLT2 will also suffice for those who would like a less bulkier sole and less expensive sandals. With Teva you can't go wrong.

Lo ammetto: non conoscevo questa marca prima di iniziare a cercare sandali su Amazon. Che dire: belli, comodi, perfetti per tutte le occasioni. Dal mare alla montagna si adattano perfettamente alle varie situazioni. Plantare ottimo, buono il grip.

Bellissimi, colorati e stracomodi. È la prima volta che utilizzo questo brand, da sempre ho usato birkenstock e Vibram. Sono leggerissimi e pratici, stanno bene su tutto. Saranno i miei compagni di passeggiata preferiti appena le temperature lo permetteranno. Sto già adocchiando un secondo modello.

¡Qué buenas sandalias! Es la primera vez que compro/pruebo éstas sandalias que había escuchado/leído buenas cosas de ellas, y estoy súper contento con mi compra, pues son súper cómodas y evidentemente ajustables. Soy talla 12 US y me quedaron muy bien. Normalmente uso sandalias deslizantes o estilo "pata de gallo", pero la ventaja de las TEVA es que me brindan un soporte en el tendón de Aquiles que no se obtiene con las sandalias anteriormente mencionadas que definitivamente seguiré usando, pero me gusta la idea de poder usar las TEVA cuando vaya de excursión al bosque, ir a la playa, pasar por ríos, etc. Me gustó que el color verde olivo oscuro (como viene publicado) denota tonos de color café en cierta luz. Probablemente me compraré otro color en el cercano futuro (aunque necesite otras), pues me gustaron mucho, ¡sin duda las recomiendo!

Como yo siempre digo: de músico, poeta y loco, todos tenemos un poco, pero los americanos se pasan tres pueblos con los nombres. Mira, yo estas sandalias se las compré a mi Antoñito para cuando va de aventuras con Amelia y los niños. Porque claro, mi nuera la vegana no para de decir que hay que "conectar con la naturaleza" y "vivir experiencias auténticas"... ¡Pero bueno, si experiencias auténticas teníamos nosotros cuando íbamos a por setas al monte con mis alpargatas de toda la vida! Pero reconozco que estas Teva (que nombre más raro, ¿será de alguna tribu?) están requetebién hechas. Avelino dice que tienen más agarre que él cuando ve el fútbol en el sofá, ¡y eso ya es decir! Que ayer se las probó para ir al Mercadona y casi se queda pegado al suelo del parking.
