Airtex E3507M Fuel Pump Module Assembly

I purchased and installed this exact Airtex E3507M Fuel pump for my father's 2004 Cavalier about 2 years ago. Plug and play, no wire harness modification needed, and no issues. So when my sisters fuel pump on her 2004 Pontiac Sunfire died, I ordered this right away. Things have changed in the 2 years since I ordered my first one. Now you have to take your original harness, and splice in Airtex's "Upgraded" harness. No big deal, I do splice junctions all the time. Placed the float on, reinstalled, and the car fired up after letting it prime twice. The tank was nearly empty, but the gauge showed full. Troubleshot and made sure all connections were correct, and fully crimped. No mistakes. Checked with multi-meter, and on the car, while steadily moving the float valve, the fuel gauge would show a change in level, but what should show as a full tank with the float arm showed as 1/4 tank. Rotate the float arm to empty, and fuel gauge shows 1/2 tank remaining. I should have looked closer at reviews and product details as well, because the photos show that it is still the original plug and play connector, but the 3D graphic in the details section shows the wider , one row, connector that Airtex moved to. But, they provide the harness adapter and even the contacts to crimp it in. But sadly, the fuel quantity was mis-calibrated , or completely broken, so I am returning it. I am giving two stars because the first pump for the Cavalier worked great and required no modifications, but I cannot recommend then now

I chose one day shipping, got it around 1pm the next day. Pump was an exact fit for my 01 chevy malibu. Comes with everything you need, new strainer, 2 different gaskets depending on your car, fuel lines. They recommend replacing your wiring harness with the pump, i didn't do this. It just seemed like a waste of money for 2 feet of wire. It connected perfectly and worked great on the first try. After installing i cycled the key a few times to prime the pump/system. Started right up. Has been on for about a month now and working just fine. Very quiet too, when the car is running i can't hear it unless i press my ear against the tank. Airtex is made in the USA wich i liked as well. I got a genuine airtex, some people say they don't though.

Had this pump in for 2 weeks now (about 600 miles on it) and it has performed great. Only reason that I give 4 stars is that the clips it provides for the fuel lines are a bit tough to get on, but once you figure them out and have the right tool it goes good. Make sure to get your return line pushed on all the way and not right on the edge with the clamp. been there, done that. But, the fuel pump in itself is great and is almost 100 dollars cheaper than local part houses so real good value especially with free shipping.

This pump is a little louder than the OEM pump for the Grand Am, but overall it seems to work well. I've had it in operation for about 3 months with out issue, seems to be a good product. The only downer is that it is a 4x1 plug instead of the stock 2x2 that was on the car. Not a big deal, as they recommend you replace that plug anyway but it did add an extra step as I had to track down a 4x1 plug. Overall, seems like a good product.

My initial review of this was 1 star because the fuel gauge did not work correctly. I was just about to return and now it works fine. 3 of our vehicles have this brand of pump and this was the first issue. The other ones are going strong nearly 5 years later. I'd recommend.

I ordered this fuel pump to replace the faulty pump in my car. I am a dealer service technician, and I knew that the quality of aftermarket fuel pumps can vary widely. I also know that the picture in the product listing doesn't always match the actual item. I almost expected a universal kit style fuel pump, especially at this low of a price. But this was an identical pump to the original equipment. If I ordered a fuel pump straight from the parts department at work, it would look the same as this. No kits, no universal crap, just a straight drop in replacement. It even has the fuel tank pressure transducer already installed. A fuel pump from our parts department was five times the price of this unit. An aftermarket from the local parts stores was three times the price. I am extremely pleased with this product.

My factory pump gave up in nov, 2008. Freeman hunda installed an airtex for me. Together it costed me$800 or more and two days of waiting. This time because of hard starting and the mechanic is relutant todo me a diagnosis, I ordered a new airtex. It took me five hours to fit it in and it dosent solve the hard startproblem. But it runs better than the old airtex hen I bring my car up, increasing horse power of my car noticeably.

Before I purchased this pump, I did a little research. I called Airtex customer service and asked where this pump was made. With little hesitation, the rep said proudly that it was made in Illinois, USA. I was thrilled and placed my order. The pump arrived quickly, but I was disappointed to see on the box that it was made in Mexico. At this point I was committed, so I had to use it. It works fine, but I wasn't happy about receiving incorrect info from the manufacturer.

Fit 2000 Chevy Cavalier very well, just needed one of the plugs on the original wiring harness changed. The kit comes with a new weatherproof connector with wiring pig-tails installed, you just need to splice the original wiring. Stagger your connections (use some shrink tube) and wrap it up. So far everything works, but my fuel guage now takes a few minutes(!) to register full after a fill-up. Works but I'll need to keep an eye on it. See if it keeps working.

Purchased this pump and it run only about couple weeks right after the returning date. during the three week period the car was parked without running almost two weeks . It started to have whining noises days after installed and then died. I am so frustrated as I lost money from this purchase within such short time. one star is given because there is no minus options.

The fuel pump was a perfect replacement for my sons car.
