Depends on source water and how often used but at least once per month to clean boiling chamber

It would work for your drinking and cooking water but not your shower water. You would need to look for a whole home system. I doubt you will find a distilling system for that.

You can locate in a shelter or covered area outside as long as you have electricity and the temperatures do not get too cold (below 55 degrees). It is not designed to be outside open-air though
