This is my fourth Palette
I am experimenting with gouache. Gouache dries quickly and is somewhat difficult to revive with water, unlike watercolors. I saw an artist using this palette in a video and bough one. It has a rubber seal which acts like a gasket and keeps air out. Clips prevent the lid from slipping off. My paint stays fresh for a long time. I spray them lightly before closing. This works with watercolors too keeping them soft if that is what you want. I have bought several others to vary up my palette choices. A+++

Very Good for Paint
This works very good with all paints even though it says watercolor, I ave used this with acrylic and it keeps it looking brand new for over 6 months. It is a very good size for on the go painting and can hold a lot of paint even though it might not look like it at first. It is very easy to open and close and very easy to wash.

Gouache
I store my gouache paints in here because carrying it in the original box takes up too much room much space in my bag. With this little portable clear container I am able to take it on the go without it having to take up a ton of room.

Wash it out!!!
Thicker acrylic paint that usually peels off of plastic, DOES NOT peel off this!! Do not let it dry. I had to buy any other but I do love this product.

my paints got contaminated
maybe its not meant for acryla-gouache.its a nice size, and feels very sturdy. the paint stayed fresh and wet, but i had it inside a pouch in my bag and every single color is contaminated, none of them stayed in their spot and all of them are pretty much ruined. i thought the lid was airtight between the colors but i suppose not. im sure if you made sure to keep it right side up it would be fine, but it doesn't serve the use i need it for. (keep my paint fresh and mess free)

WORKS but is a bit different then expected
So, first, this thing is smaller than I expected. Also the top comes completely off, it is NOT hinged Like I though. And the top inside lid has an air tight seal on it. The entire inside of the lid is covered in the seal. So, I doubt I will be able to use the top as a mixer tray. There also is an over abundance of latches on this box compared to it's size. Will is keep my paints from drying out? ProbablyBut, I don't think I would spend this much buying another one.

Perfect for watercolor artists!
I was looking for a decent quality pallete for my tube watercolor paints when I came across this one. I have to say I really love this, it's much better than other pan palletes primarily because it really is airtight. It does have a thumb ring on the back to hold it while painting. It's made of a decent arylic that's fairly durable and had silicone seals which creates the perfect airtight seal. My paints don't dry out and I don't have to worry about them spilling if the tray gets flipped for some reason.I do wish there were more individual compartments but at only $9.99 buying more to accommodate me won't break the bank. It's significantly cheaper than most pan sets currently available. It does lack an actual pallete but it's not the end of the world in my opinion as it's more about quality storage for me. You could use the lid for mixing but I suggest you clean it before closing it so you don't contaminate paints you are storing. While I wouldn't use it for oils or acrylics (you could if you wanted to) because the areas are about the size of a half pan, they are absolutely perfect for tube watercolor as well as storage for mixing your own custom colors. If you are into watercolor painting you definitely need this in your tool box!
