Brace On Swedish Polyethylene AFO Ankle Brace for Women's Left Foot Drop

The braces were for my foot drop, and while they're well made, clearly supportive, and definitely affordable, the quality control could use some work- Shown in the photos, you can see that the left brace had a single strap at the top, but the right brace had two straps- one near the ankle, and another at the top. All straps are merely glued onto the plastic brace with industrial strength adhesive. I'm not sure what this means in terms of strength or use and wear and tear from prolonged usage. There is nothing to hold the foot into the brace- I'd have to install more velcro straps, using similar adhesive or even rivets to hold the velcro straps in. The provided straps are far, far too long, and were perhaps intended so users could cut the straps shorter when needed. Understood, but as they are, they are ridiculously long. As they are, and as they're intended, they're perfectly fine. They're sturdy, flexible, comfortable and easy to customize for each individual's specific needs. Note that I did take out the original shoe's inserts- the soft, spongy footbed insert/insole in order to get the braces to fit inside my shoes.

This product is very poorly designed. I have Drop Foot on my left foot. first off, It did not fit in my shoe correctly, and uncomfortable to wear. The worst part was that the part of the brace that rests on your calf is tight and the velcro is not strong at all. I could not get the strap to stay in place. It kept on popping off. This could have been very unsafe. The only good thing about this product is that the strap was long enough to go around my calf giving me the option to trim it if I wanted.

This light-weight brace helps keep my foot positioned correctly as I walk, without unduly limiting the action of my ankle. I was concerned that the foot plate would be too flat, since my orthotic would not fit either inside or beneath it in my athletic shoe, but it has enough built-in arch support to prevent my plantar's fasciitis from kicking up (though it might not be the right amount for everyone). I do want a little padding from ankle socks when I wear it. And I put some moleskin cloth on the inside of the calf panel to keep my skin from sticking to the plastic. But overall, it's relatively easy-on, easy-off, particularly when I leave the brace in the shoe and simply unfasten both the shoe and the velcro straps to slip my foot out. In putting it back on, the calf portion of the brace acts as a kind of shoehorn, letting me slip the foot back into place before retying the shoe and fastening the two velcro straps. The straps are quite long; I shortened mine and added another bit of velcro to avoid having extra-long pieces flapping around between my calves.

I am short and I found it helped my foot, however being short I had a hard time in a sitting position. My leg could not go straight down. Had to stretch it out in front of me.

The main body of this brace if fine and will do what it's supposed to. The main reason for the lower score is that they used the cheapest plastic velcro they can find. It cuts into you and scratches. Ugh. Thankfully this one was replacing another brace with softer straps so I used my old straps instead.

This brace functions exactly like it's described. It lifts my foot and allows me to almost take a normal step. I find it very comfortable in shoes that lace, I forget I'm wearing a brace. It's light weight and invisible under slacks. After reading the reviews from previous buyers I was prepared to line the brace with moleskin to prevent chafing, but I found that unnecessary. Though I might place a shoe insert on the footbed to support my arch. If the velcro wears, it would be very easy to replace. I may add another velcro strap at the ankle to wear sandals this summer, I hate wearing shoes in the heat. I will buy this brace again, sooner than later.

Went in shoe easily,but painful on heal. Metal one with one side support was better. Plastic is painful on heal. Hate wearing it.

I have drop foot on my left side and this product helps with keeping my foot elevated so I don’t trip, which is a thing that happens without it. I do use a shoe insert with it and both have provided me with the freedom I need to walk unobstructed. Thank you!!
