EVERYONE IN THE FAMILY NEEDS THESE IN THEIR VEHICLES...and other thoughts
Very bright, good selection of alternating patterns to use. Nice instruction sheet included with helpful tips on proper placement. I plan to carry one in my daypack for extra peace of mind when hiking in the fickle weather of the Pacific Northwest. They only weigh 6oz each with batteries. I'll order more for all my other vehicles as soon as they become available again. My only suggestion to Marcala would be to have 4 in a set instead of 3. Seems like a better ratio to distribute near your vehicle. Shout out to Liana at Marcala’s customer service for her quick response and alternate plan should my box be lost forever in the postal purgatory. Fortunately the box eventually showed up. Huge appreciation to the postal workers who keep showing up to work in the worst conditions and push those boxes from one side of the country to the other. I spent time shopping the various vendors who sell these type of lights. After sifting through fake reviews as well as those written by the chronically miserable who would complain that water is too wet, I chose to purchase from Marcala based on the selection of product and overall positive feedback. I leave it to you as a consumer to choose who to order from. I happened to have a great experience with Marcala considering the current climate of poor customer service everywhere. And now I will give a review of the reviewers... To anyone who is in EMS, or on a road crew, or is a professional driver: Please go easy on the harsh reviews. These LED lights are not designed for daily deployment and abuse that your professions see on a regular basis. I don't know if they would be a great addition to your industrial level gear or are capable of enduring the rigors of First Responders jobs. But to be dismissive and relegate them to a "junk" category does a disservice to the everyday person that these were designed for. We need to encourage people to adopt basic and easy to use tools to have in their vehicle while they wait for help to arrive. The K.I.S.S. principle applies to these products (Keep It Simple, Stupid). LED pucks are targeted for a broad audience. Example: Your sweet little grandma or grandpa or your teenager with limited driving experience. Who wants their elderly parents or teenager standing on the side of the road under cold windy or rainy conditions struggling to light a 30-minute flare after having a tire blow out? Most roadside services/tow trucks take a lot longer than 30 minutes to reach them. Meanwhile, the 3 flares that were set in place have long been extinguished before the tow truck arrives. The LED lights offer an added measure of safety. If these lights are the only item carried or part of a network of traditional flares and triangles, SOMETHING in the vehicle is BETTER THAN NOTHING! A safety item can only be useful if a person is comfortable using it. Lots of chatter and questions from reviewers about lumens and brightness. LED technology, like all technology, improves exponentially every year both in lumen output and price point. Are these as bright as a hot flare? Probably not. Nor does an apple taste like an orange either. Don’t get hung up on lumens. I can attest that these are very bright and should do well in alerting other drivers to avoid your disabled vehicle or draw attention to SAR if lost in the woods or desert or mountain peak. My advice to potential buyers: Buy now and buy the new and improved later on. Buy them for all your vehicles and family. They’re affordable enough to do so. Keep extra batteries. Remember, nothing is built to last 20 years or even 5 years for that matter. And stop expecting these to be seen from the Space Station when it orbits overhead. Safe travels, DW

Great value and quality
Perfect for my application as a warning light ⚠️ 💡 on a WWII Military Jeep for safety on the highway. Works as advertised.

Comparison with safety cones, flares, reflective signs, etc.
Outfitting the family car for emergencies, I had many and widely ranging concerns. I didn't want to store large amounts of emergency equipment and on top of that, have that equipment fail during an actual emergency. I wanted something effective, fool-proof, and something that didn't take up a lot of space. So I considered safety cones, flares, reflective signs, and other light products. First, I considered what most roadside crews use - cones. What I found was that most cheap cones and collapsible cones will be blown away if there is ample wind, or a car or truck whips by your cone. To avoid that issue, you can buy heavy weighted cones but those don't collapse and they take up a lot of space in your trunk and they're very expensive. Second, I considered flares. I've also seen these used for roadside emergencies. They definitely stand out more than cones, they're visible from farther away, you can outline a boundary that's a safe distance from your car, and there's the benefit of no batteries required. The negatives for flares include the chance that you hold them the wrong way and you drop smoldering embers onto your skin or clothes, the flares can roll out of position, the flares will go out if you drop them instead of placing them down, you may accidentally place them in an area with gasoline or other flammable liquids making for a terribly dangerous fire hazard, they're not reusable because you have to break them out to put them out (and because once you expose the ignition and striker, it's dangerous to store them in that state) -which also makes more work for you. Worst in my book is that there are documented cases of flares igniting within a cargo area when they're jostled around and the striker and ignition pieces get exposed. Third, I considered reflective signs. I felt these were not universally understood as roadside emergency. They could be mistaken for bumper stickers or business signs, for example. Also, cars have to be fairly nearby for their headlights to reflect off the signs. Although easy to store, they're also easy to accidentally bend and so forth. For me, these just weren't cutting it in the effectiveness department. Finally, I considered lights. What was most important to me about lights was lumens (brightness), battery life, how easy it was to place them in visible areas. Most lights are sold to go on the top of the roof or on the windshield or onto the back window. These lights are so much more effective because you can outline your entire car with them by just sticking them on. If it's safe to let your child out of the car, even a child could do it. Sometimes I take a couple with me when I go walking because they're easy to spot in case of emergency. Also, It was important to me that they blinking patterns are universally understood as emergency, just like a car's hazard lights. The brightness is great. We've had them over a year and batteries are still fine. They're very compact. They're very affordable. I think these are the best choice for roadside safety and you can also use them for camping, on hikes, on bicycles, basically any time you need a bright light because they're very multipurpose.

Provides a little piece of mind and should improve visibility.
I have not had the bad fortune to use these, but I used similar more bulky LED lights at a vehicle crash and it made a big difference. I did unbox and unwrap these to ready them for use. The carrying case is easy to use one-handed. I will test out the tool included at a later date. Each light worked well, the magnet did stick on the side of the vehicle (even on a dirt covered area) without any problems. The light is bright and very noticeable. I purchased the set of six, which allows one for the roof of the vehicle, and five to use as guides on the ground. You have to decide which sequence of flashes you feel are appropriate for your situation. Some may cause confusion if bunched too close, but I can see a use for each sequence. I did like the sequence which provides a simple flash sequence and a top light which would angle a bright white steady light to a working area, (example changing a tire, under the hood toward the battery or engine.). I am going to test them in a large parking lot on a foggy day to get an idea of the warning distance it provides to other drivers. I am unsure of its night time distance or daylight visibility. I was not sure of the whistle, but after expanding the use of this kit beyond a car this would be great for a boat that has lost power on the water, or provide one to each hiker in a party of six, just in case someone gets lost. I think this is a good buy, and will give these out as gifts in the future, just for some peace of mind.

Very Bright LED Safety Flares: An Overview
These Marcala LED Safety Flares are a really nice set for keeping with your vehicle for that JIC (Just In Case) emergency roadside situations. Very bright LED lights that are different lighting modes. The set of three (3) LED Safety Flares come individually bubble wrapped inside a red zippered cordura bag just like the video by seller indicates. The only thing that I'd note is that while the box states: "WHAT'S INSIDE? *4 LED Safety Flare, 2019 Version" Maybe they intended to say four (4) side emitting LEDs per side of each flare? Certainly NOT four (4) LED Safety Flares inside the box, because there is ONLY (3) Three LED Safety Flares. Comes with AAA installed with 3 additional spares. There's also a "Multi-Tool" that's included, more like a key (1-Flathead + 1-Phillips Head) for removing battery compartment to replenish with fresh charged ones. The LED Safety Flares have a plastic carabiner-like hook that folds flush to the body of the Flare. There's also what appears to be two (2) magnet discs that can be seen through the plastic backing. The magnet has a decent "adherence" onto flat ferromagnetic materials. To me, can be easily knocked off the side of vehicle's body if brushed up against. The body material is composed of plastic and hard rubber. The LEDs are housed in clear plastic, and the orange carabiner-like hook (except the gate which is metal) as well as where the magnets are housed are plastic. The rest of the orange surround such as at the corners are hard rubber. Overall, I believe this is a good purchase. For me and my uses, I've changed out the batteries to the Duracell Procell. Come to think of it, maybe I'll have to try it out with AAA Lithium Batteries. Hmmm. . . Will add/edit when appropriately warranted.

A MUST HAVE
I have a degree in Aeronautics, obviously safety is priority #1. I buy many of these flares and give them away as love gifts to my family and friends. Cars, etc. I'm starting a safety program for children for free ( any activity near or on streets such as bicycle riding ). I will be highly recommending this. My son just used these at night on his bicycle and not only did it increase safety tremendously but it was super cool on the rotation mood. It fits perfect on the vertical stem of the rear reflective flag which should be mounted on the left rear. I will be taking a video of this and hopefully posting it. On rotation mood it lights up everything. Including the back of his left leg and back and directs light at on coming traffic from the rear and then hits the street. Very cool! See and Avoid is everything especially when Drivers are on their cell phones.

Very nice lighting for multiple uses
I just received a pack of three today and as you can see in the attached video that I recorded out in my backyard at night, these lights provide plenty of illumination so that anybody can see them. I hope I never have to put them to use on the side of the road, but it’s comforting to know that they’ll be in my car ready to go.

Excelente produto.
