JBL you did it. I have been looking for a sound bar that would compete with my 5.1 stereo setup. I have a high end receiver/sub/speakers and it has been demoted to the basement. I have really enjoyed the 1000MK2 device and finally I can say good bye to my speaker wires. When having family over to watch a game I can take one speaker put it in the dinning room and the other outside to the bbq and engage that broadcast mode. Also it’s great for surround sound for movie night. App is actually easy to use (thank you) so many apps are not. Super simple and easy to setup and everything connects well. While working in my home office I often kick on music with the app and use my smart device as the remote control. It just works. It’s very reliable. Great job to the developers and engineers that have the device flash low battery when it’s time for the side speakers to dock. This device was a pleasant surprise. Happy to rate it so highly and folk's it’s worth it.

Easy setup and great quality sound. The detectable satellite speakers really make the depth of the surround sound so much greater. And being able to Bluetooth my music from my phone rocks

Overall the surround sound doesn't give a good Dolby Atmos or immersive directional sound. This is more like a really good soundbar system with good clarity and a really good base or sub when the volume is turned up, but without Atmos directional sound. When cranked up, the speaker bar and sub are loud, have strong base, and sound clear. The rears are underpowered to the point they have zero effectiveness. The rears are like a whisper at best and can't be heard unless you put your ears up to the rear speaker. The rears are completely overpowered by the rest of the system. This is with all the remote control settings turned up. At normal everyday listening you can't really hear the base (sub speaker) all that well. The sub doesn't kick in until medium volume, even with the equalizer tuned up. It's not like the sub is underpowered, rather more like a programming issue. You mostly only hear the main bar, which does sound really good. But I fully expected the base to work better at low volumes and the rears to have a decent effect. They might as well not sell the rears and take some money off the price. Basically I think the bar 500 and bar 700 would sound comparable given the weak rears speakers.

This is my first sound bar system I’ve ever owned. I upgraded from my old pioneer surround system and I must say this is very impressive! Having two rear wireless surround speakers that detach from the sound bar is awesome! Plenty of power and definitely a cinematic feel when you crank up the volume!

Great quality love it. However, base is a bit much fyi. If you like having to turn up the volume during talking scenes and turning the volume down during action scenes than this is for you! Yes still very basey on lowest base setting. No the speaker would not work when I just unplugged the base. But again solid speaker.

Simple set up. Superb sound quality. Very happy with it and the sale price. It has since gone up significantly

The JBL Bar 1000M2-7.1.4 Channel sound bar System is my third surround sound system I've owned. It is by far the best! You will be blown away by the rich bass, the clarity of sound, and the detachable rear speakers! Setup is easy and Bluetooth connectivity is a breeze. The price may be a little higher, but the value for your money is remarkable! You will not be disappointed!

This sound bar is amazing!! I saw a write up on how to calibrate the speakers so they are louder. I tried it and it works so good! I actually have to turn down the surround speakers because they were so loud after I calibrated them. You can’t go go wrong with this sound bar! I highly recommend it!

Sound quality, ease of use compared to other sound bars and the fact it has wireless 9.1 setup makes it the best choice.

Chulada, me gustó mucho el sonido que brinda esta barra, yo siempre estuve buscando el balance entre el precio y calidad entregada, y sobretodo las capacidades de audio que tiene, ya que lo que yo personalmente buscaba era tener un balance para escuchar tanto películas con Atmos como música con esa vibración que JBL siempre hace bien, entonces lo encontré con esta barra. La calidad de material también es muy bueno y tiene todo lo necesario para una correcta instalación y montaje, entonces mi caso sí mantengo separadas las bocinas desmontables y están empotradas en su posición sugerida de mi habitación donde la instale. Ya solo las recargo cuando es necesario.

Sounds ok, not but could be way better, very loud but lacks alot when it comes to customization. Can't get it to sound the way I like it, which is a major upset for something at this price point. The app doesn't offer many options either, it's really dumbed down. It's hard to get good mids on it, even the equalizer lacks seperate control of the sub and remaining sound band. So if you want to adjust the low end frequency of the main drivers and lower the sub you can't do it with any precision. The low end of the band controls the sub and main drivers. Also in different listening modes you can't even adjust certain levels. The rear speakers sometimes don't connect and also the battery life should be longer. They also lack customization, the max volume for surround effects could be a lot louder but it won't let you turn it up. I know they can get a lot louder because when you set them up as broadcast speakers (multi room) they sound almost as loud as the front speakers, in surround mode you can hardly hear them. The built in Calibration does little to help. I'm having mixed feelings about this purchase, hopefully JBL updates their app/firmware to fix this. As it stands I can't say I recommend this product, there's good competition in this price field. Knocked off two stars for not being able to customize the sound better and for the issue with the rear speakers.
