Accurate, Reliable, and Easy to Use – Excellent Gauss Meter
This 8103 Gauss Meter is a fantastic piece of kit. It delivers precise readings with excellent consistency and is perfect for both testing and calibration work. The ±1% accuracy gives real confidence in the results. Setup was quick and straightforward, and the rechargeable battery makes it convenient for regular use. The data logging function is a great bonus, allowing me to record and review measurements easily. The alarm feature is also handy when checking for field strength limits. Build quality feels solid and professional, and the display is clear and easy to read. Overall, an excellent, reliable, and accurate instrument that performs exactly as described. Well worth it.

handy bit of kit
Handy bit of kit for anyone needing to measure magnetic fields without faffing about. The readings are consistent and the display is clear enough to interpret without any confusion. Adjusting settings is simple, and the response time is quick when taking measurements. The built-in alarm function is handy when needing to stay within specific ranges. Having the option to store data for later reference is a useful feature, especially when dealing with multiple readings. Battery life holds up well during extended use, so there’s no constant need to recharge. The included stand is convenient for hands-free operation, which is helpful when working on detailed tasks. A solid tool for those needing precise and reliable measurements.

Ideal tool for Physics teachers and professionals
In these days when school and college funding is short and lab equipment sparse, this Gauss meter is an excellent addition. It is well made, solid, with a good display. The probe is appreciably sensitive, and well protected in storage. However, it has proved rather tricky to fit it securely to the meter as it keeps falling off unless a few minutes are spent fitting and adjusting it on each occasion. We have been having a good deal of fun exploring the applications and limits of the meter. Firstly, it has a high degree of accuracy and therefore lives up to its description as being suitable for workshop applications. It withstands accidental thuds and knocks and rough handling by over-eager hands. The case is very robust and looks smart and professional.

accurate
Accurate and easy to read. It came with a carry case to keep the device safe and all accessories in one place. This is a very useful tool for both industrial and personal use. USB C rechargeable for added convenience too.

Gauss Meter
The AEGTEST AEG-8103 Gauss Meter is a versatile tool for measuring magnetic field strength and identifying pole direction, with a range up to 2500 mT and ±5% general accuracy. It includes features like audible alarms, data logging, and both manual and auto zero calibration for ease of use in workshops and factories. I liked the dual industrial modes, especially the QC test function which makes it quick to screen magnetic materials or test motors.

Quality meter, easy to use...
Well made test meter, certainly has the look/feel of a precision instrument as opposed to a 'cheap' gadget. It's very easy to use, with a clear readout of the results via a decent screen. The menu for various settings again is easy to navigate, and this is something you may want to look at straight away, in order to change the time-outs. The screen can be set to sleep from 1 to 9 minutes, and complete device shutdown from 1 to 9 hours. There is also a padlock symbol (for both options) that disables the timers. My meter had the (device) auto shutdown set to the padlock, meaning that although the screen had gone off after a few minutes, the device was still 'live', draining the battery of course. I only noticed this when I came to use the meter again the next day, and found the battery less than half full (despite an initial full charge-up before use). The sensor and strip looks rather delicate, so you'll have to be careful how you handle it and where you use it. I did a quick experiment by taking readings with the screw-on cover in place (the sensor in a fixed position with a magnet also fixed/static), and found negligible difference between the readings with or without it. This may be useful for certain jobs, if poking the probe in a location where it could be damaged for instance. The only things you'd have to do is mark the probe handle so you know the position/orientation of the sensor, and another (circle perhaps?) around the probe-cover to indicate the location of the sensor along its' length (actually about 16mm from the cover's tip when it's screwed on). The meter gives north/south orientation, so a simple experiment to find the poles of a bar magnet for example... as long as you position the sensor-side of the strip facing the ends of the magnet, you'll get the correct north/south reading. It's an impressive bit of kit, and whether you're using it for experimental or educational work, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Good stuff, and on a quality/value-for-money basis.... 5-Stars.

Great item.
Very well made and comes in a very good plastic box with latches to hold the lid firmly in place. The device is in a padded compartment to keep it all safe during transport and in storage. The C charging cable is very good quality in itself and instructions say only to use the supplied cable to charge the device as damage may result if other cables are used. The part that you put near to the magnets does look very flimsy but it does come with a removable screw on cover to keep it safe when not using. The display is a bit on the small side . It shows North and South poles of magnets which is useful. I will be asking a friend to help me understand this although a good instruction book is incorporated
