Farscape: The Complete Series Collection DVD Set Seasons 1, 2, 3 & 4 (15th Anniversary Limited Edition)

If you've never watched Farscape, you are in for a wild ride, and such a treasure. The beginning can be tough to get through for any series, but it's worth sticking with because once they find their footing, they soar. I'm not going to tell you what the series is about. You can read that elsewhere. I'm going to review the physical product. The series itself gets 10 out of 5 stars, and I recommend watching them in order of the disk after trying it several ways over several years. Disk order is most logical to story progression.The disks here get... actually 10 out of 5 as well. Far surpassed my expectations! This wasn't just a regular series production, shoving all the episodes on the disk one after another. This includes subtitles, special features, deleted scenes, the works! So thoughtfully put together. I have seen things on these disks that I've never seen in my 20 years of watching this, which says a lot. It's worth every penny. Everything played without the slightest hitch, which is so hard to find in series sets nowadays. This doesn't include the movie, but I think that's obvious. And it's a must watch afterwords to have any mild sense of resolution, even though there are parts of it I personally deny as canon.Just finished watching through the entire series for the trillionth time, first time with this set, and I wasn't disappointed, though now I see things in character growth as an adult that I never saw as a child. I connect to different characters. It was a very different experience this time around. (They really did a disservice to Aeryn's character in later seasons. That's all I'll say here because it's a long discussion.) But it does prove the rewatchability of this show, that there will always be a different perspective to connect to and learn from. It really is transformative, and worth having in disk form to watch over and over again. I thank the creative souls that came together to deliver this gem to our region of the universe.

This is one crazy Sci-Fi series.Lots of puppetry and so many crazy looking creatures that are fun to see.The earth man and his weird non earth shipmates are chased across the cosmos by crazy earth like aliens and other creatures.The series went on for several years, it was great and I hated to see it end.Had all of the DVDs and waited for the Blu-rays for years.So bought them when they came outThese take up far less room in storage and are slightly better quality?Kind of hard to tell sometimes with some of the newer disc players upgrading the quality as the disc plays.Still if you are a fan or just starting out with the series I think these are worthy upgrade.

I have always been a big fan of collecting physical media for the movies and TV shows I love. Having recently discovered Farscape, I knew that it was a show I needed to add to my collection. I was happy with how the disks and cases arrived. No damage to either and no issues with playing the disks.As far as the series goes, Farscape has become one of my favorite Science Fiction shows. This show was made in a unique era when practical effects were still a huge mainstay but vfx were beginning to improve. It makes for an unique amalgamation of different visual effects that are creative at times and rather strange at others. Regardless, it makes for a fun ride from beginning to end.If you are looking to get this series for your collection, you can't go wrong with the 15th Anniversary Farscape blu ray collection. Remember, this doesn't include the two part mini-series "Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars". So you will need to pick up that as well.

Very fun series, doesn't take itself too seriously, but isn't a comedy.Decent effects for the time, and I really love the puppet work on some of the characters. The two main characters are great. The story is well thought out and doesn't leave you rolling your eyes. Just give it a go and enjoy the ride.

I already had this Complete series on multiple DVDs years ago, I was so happy to find it on Blu Ray disc for better picture/sound quality. I received this today, and upon opening the package I found that all 4 of the disc cases were broken/damaged at the bottom. The shipping box had no damage on it, neither did the shrink wrap around all of the disc cases, so that makes me wonder if they were broken/damaged before they were even shipped. Inspecting the discs, they do not seem to be damaged, but I haven't tried to play them yet. I am disappointed about the broken cases, but if the discs are good then I can find new cases.

Farscape is visually stunning, and the Blu-ray is excellent. The idea of a living ship is engaging. A hand full of humans and non-humans populate the ship. The designs of the non-human crew are interesting and appealing. Farscape seems ad hoc, as compared to Star Trek, because Farscape is not limited and directed by a Federation, with a top-heavy governing structure and a training academy. With Star Trek, you know what you are going to get even though you don't know the specifics, because of Star Trek's inherent structure. With Farscape, not so much.

Love the show. If you do to, you might want to also get "Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars", since the show was cancelled the season 4 cliff-hangs, and only later by the demand of many many fans it was brought to a conclusion in Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars movie. Search the Amazon for product ID B089CZCYWG.The "Farscape: Complete Series Collection Set - Season 1,2,3 & 4 15th Anniversary Blu-ray Edition" is shown on Amazon as "DVD" though it is a BluRay collection. However, since the show was filmed for old TV before the technology was available for true HD, the picture is NOT HD. Or rather not quite HD, and the format is 4:3 except last season. You can't blame them for not using tech that was not yet available at the time. Still, the story line and plot is fascinating. Highly recommend even if you are not really in to Sci-Fi, there is a lot of drama going on here.

This series is excellent! It’s a very underrated Sci-Fi series. It’s one of my personal favourites. I recommend the series to everyone!
