Heavy duty with nice flexibility
These 20’ Jumper cables by Nilight are so much better than anything I’ve seen locally. The cables are heavy duty, but remain flexible. The biting force of the clamps is impressive, and it even comes with a carrying case that isn’t a nightmare to put the jumper cables back into. What I like: Length It’s great to be able to jump start a vehicle without needing to do special maneuvers or push the car that won’t start. I had to use these for the first time the other day in freezing weather. The car I was jumping was pulled head-in to a parking spot. Due to the extra length, I was able to pull up behind the car (adjacent parking spots were taken) and still have enough length to do the jump start. Flexibility Even though the temperature was in the teens, the cables were still flexible. In the past I’ve had cheap cables that the plastic wire insulation becomes so stiff when it’s freezing out. These were a pleasure to take out and put back into the storage bag. Storage bag I had an Energizer brand set of premium cables in the past. The carrying case was so tight fitting I had to take a lot of time to roll them up perfectly or the zipper wouldn’t close. Even taking care, the zipper still broke. It’s nice that the Nilight cables came with a storage bag that was roomy enough that you don’t have to try too much to get the cables to fit. Clamping force The spring on these cables is robust. They provide great bite force, which allows for a good connection between the vehicles. What I don’t like: I didn’t really find something I don’t like on these cables. The only concern I would have with these is if they were for someone with weak grip strength. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a good number of people that need to use two hands to get the clamps open wide enough to put on the battery posts. I don’t have this problem, but it is stronger than many of the grip strength trainers that I have. Overall impression: Unless you are grip-challenged, these would be a great set of jumper cables for almost anyone. Given how rare it may be for a person to have to buy a set of jumper cables, it is certain worth it to spend a little more for a set like these. They could make a great gift for new drivers, or really anyone with a car that doesn’t already have a *quality* set of cables.

A must have in any car
Isn't it annoying when you need a jump and you go back to your trunk to find out your cables are missing? Or, you upgrade to the battery jumper where you do not need jumper cables to find out the battery on the jumper is dead and will not provide enough to turn you car engine over and then find out that you backup jumper cables are not in the trunk! Or you want to help someone else out and you go through the above scenarios again! I can't stress enough that a person should always have a good quality heavy duty pair of jumper cables in their car. Even if you do not know how to use them, you have them for that Good Samaritan that is more than willing to help get you going again on that freezing cold morning. These Nilight jumper cables are a good set that are using heavy gauge cable and solid clamps. They also have the length needed to make jumping a car easy. I certainly have paid a lot more for a similar quality set of cables. So this set is a very good set and at a reasonable price. The only disadvantage I see in this set is that the clamps are the straight type clamp. I prefer the bent style because it seems easier to attach. But the straight ones work good and if you need them I don't think I really care if they have a bent clamp or straight. I just want my car running so I can warm up! RATING SYSTEM: I review a lot of products because I know reading other peoples reviews are very helpful in selecting the right product. I saw a reviewer that gave a rating scale and I thought, "that is useful". When one is reviewing from underwear to air compressors having a way to tell you why I rate is important. Here is my rating scale: 5 Stars: Excellent product, I highly recommend this product for anyone. 4 Stars: Good product, but there are some quality, functionality, or design issues, but will still work well. 3 Stars: Okay product, it will work for some people but not all people. It works but not great. 2 Stars: Is not very functional. It might work in a very specialized situation, but don't count on it. 1 Star: Trash. I can't see any useful purpose for the product.
