Made with comfort in mind
I’m dealing with a bit of peripheral neuropathy these days, so I thought I’d give these shoes a try. They are meant for people with more serious conditions than mine. But that said, I’m always in the market for a pair of comfortable shoes. In a way, they meet that expectation. But, in a way, they don’t, and I’m not sure why. They’re US 11 1/2s, although sometimes 12s are a better bet for me. Given that they are designed to be extra wide, smaller seemed better—and I got it half right. Lesson learned. The right shoe is comfortable, but the left is not. I did a little research and found that 60 percent of people have different-size feet; so, while I’d recommend sizing up for these shoes, it’s unclear if size is the problem. Have I fully broken them in yet? ‘Can’t say I have, so there’s that to consider. But that leaves what I think is the real issue—craftsmanship. Except for a few minor glitches, the shoes are well made of quality materials and provide a comfortable bounce to your step. But when I look closely at the left toe from the outside and run a finger along it on the inside, I can feel a rigid seam of some kind that is nowhere to be found in the other shoe. I’ll see if I can knead it out if it doesn’t go away on its own. Case closed.Included are seven insole combinations to maximize fit and comfort: the original removable foam insoles and a pair of spacers of different thickness with matching heel inserts for added versatility.
