Cooking rice has never been easier!
OH MY! I have never been a gifted person who could cook rice that would come out consistently good. Sometimes it would be great, but most of the time my rice was mushy or not cooked all the way! One of my Korean friends suggested--NO--she told me she would never make rice in anything other than a Tiger Rice Cooker! Best advice I have ever taken! This little unit makes cooking rice so easy and effortless. My rice is consistently good all the time. Well, when I first got it I used warm water to rinse the rice and to put in the cooking pot--Do Not Do that! That was the only time I made bad rice in this Tiger Rice Cooker. It came out mushy, like oatmeal. Yuck! There are a ton of videos on YouTube that will take you through the steps of cooking in this wonderful rice cooker, if you can't understand the directions. The controls are easy to use and the "Keep Warm" feature is a life saver! Do not fear using the "Keep Warm" feature, I have never burned my rice--ever! The only draw back, is not really knowing how long I have left on the cook time, as there is no timer visible just a ready button that lights up. That mainly comes from my family being impatient and ready for dinner. This is not a deal breaker, I just start the rice first and then cook dinner. The cooker itself is durable. The cooking pot is scratch resistant but have never--ever used a metal spoon or anything with it. Cleaning is super easy, wipe down with a damp cloth and put it away. Cooking rice has never been easier! The Tiger Rice Cooker is so easy and flawless to use, my 26 year old single son asked for one so that he can cook his own rice at home! Best kitchen appliance purchase ever!

Tiger Japanese rice cooker dual function
Japanese rice cooker. The tiger is the best thing I ever invested in in my entire life. It’s simplifies everything, especially if you are a person who lives alone, and this is the best option because it cooks the Japanese rice perfectly, and it has a tray in there to steam your vegetables. Use the synchronizing function to cook your rice and steam your vegetables all at the same time and your dinner is done within 20 minutes.

steamer and rice cooker work well, easy to use, good value.
Steamer works very well. The first day, we cooked white rice and steamed purple carrots. Carrots stayed purple and rice stayed white. Brown rice takes a long time, so plan ahead. We cooked a bit of brown rice and it took about 45 minutes. It cooked it very well, but you can't be in a rush. The pan and steamer both clean up very easily. We clean them both by hand. The lid doesn't come off, so cleaning that is a bit of a pain. Our old rice cooker (which died, hence this replacement), had a regular lid that was easy to clean. This one, I have to wipe off the lid and rinse it off, and it's awkward since I can't just run the lid under the sink, since it's part of the cooker. Anyway, that aside, I like this very much. It takes up more kitchen counter real estate than our old rice cooker, but I knew that when I ordered it. For our family of 4, the size of this rice cooker is great. It makes more than enough for us and could easily make enough rice for 8 to 10 people. I don't use the measuring cup, but my Lola's finger-measuring method, and the rice comes out very nicely cooked, not too dry and not too wet. One thing - relatively minor - when you press the button to open the lid, the lid snaps up quickly. So, it seems best to have your other hand available to slow down the lid as it swings up. I could see the snapping lid being a weak link and eventually breaking if it snaps up too many times. If you want a very good rice cooker that has a few more bells and whistles than the average rice cooker (steamer, slow cooker, etc.), and is reasonably priced, this one should be on your list.

healthier meals, less mess
I couldn't be happier with a $65 investment. I've been using Tiger for almost 4 months by now and I must say that I can't be more happier with the results. Cleaning: Since it's most discussed in the past comment I'm going to start with the cleaning. It's very easy to clean. Follow the instructions when using the cooker. Don't overfill and use more/less water than suggested - keep water/rice ratio as it's stated in the manual. Every time after cooking, handwash the teflon coated bowl, and top part (which is connected to inside of the lid ~ detachable), and vegetable if used. Clean the cooker with towel and that's pretty much it. If you take good care of your cooker, it will serve you for years. Be nice to it :) Rice cooking: That's the main purpose of the rice cooker, right? So far I noticed that each rice have different way of cooking. Some might require pre-wash and leaving it to dry for a little bit, some might require zero wash but leaving in water for 30mins. My favorite is Koshihikari Gaba rice. Synchro-cooking: Thanks to this function, my meals are healthier and rich in nutrition. Just add your favorite rice below and add all the vegetables that you want to have in this bowl. It leaves a nice touch of vegetables' taste to the rice and prepares all vegetables ready to consume at the same time with the rice. I usually mix them together. Haven't used the slow cooking and plain rice function yet but recipe book which came with Tiger has so many options that I haven't tried yet, and yet can't wait to try.

Great for the price
An excellent cheaper product from Tiger for those who can't quite afford the super amazing line they're known for. Yes, it's made in China, and the product quality is noticeably different from the $300-$400 rice cookers, but that's because this costs less than $100. You get what you pay for, and for the price this is a great product. The rice comes out perfectly for me each time, and the warming feature keeps it fresh for a lot longer than my previous rice cooker, without burning the bottom layer to a hard shell (lookin' at you, old rice cooker). No, the "cup" measurements doesn't refer to standard baking measurements - it refers to the amount of rice that fits in the plastic scoop they give you. Not a big deal as long as you're aware of it before putting in the water. It comes with a rice paddle and a stand for the paddle, which is super nice; the rice doesn't stick to the paddle excessively and washes right off, and the stand makes it possible to keep the paddle clean between scooping without having to lay it down somewhere. Also, it's true that when you open the lid after the rice is done, all the condensation drips down without a handy drain to catch it. However, there is a little lip in the design that prevents the water from actually seeping into the inner workings underneath the pan, and a little dipped area there that lets the water pool in one place. If you've got a paper towel or something, it's easy to clean the water and catch the excess. Not ideal, but it's also not the most annoying feature in the world.

Great, simple rice cooker with good capacity.
This has worked great for several years for me. I do mostly white rice, not the dual cooking with veggies, but for white and brown rice, it's been perfect. Top is easy to clean if you rinse rice or use Jasmine. With basmati unrinsed it can be very starchy, and steam will bubble on top a bit, requiring a wipe up. Rice still comes out great. But rinsing mostly makes cleanup easy and rice fluffy.

Looks cool and is super easy to use
Had to replace my gf's (Japanese) Hitachi with this similar looking one. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase. One thing I do prefer from the Hitachi was that it had measuring options for White Rice, Jasmin, Brown, and Porridge. This one just has Plain and Brown... which raises the question of what type is Basmati, what is Okome, etc. Word of caution, it uses a type A plug, not the British type G, but I was already aware of it.

Cooks rice wonderfully
Super happy with this rice cooker, first time use was a perfect success. Was debating on getting the JBV-S, but decided on this one since the JBV-S would one day need a battery replacement once the lithium battery dies... or so I read in the manuel on the TIGER website online. Overall, this rice cooker (JBV-A10U 5.5 cup) is awesome for the price and very simple to use; measured 2 cups with the provided measuring cup, rinsed the short-grain rice till the water was clear, filled the pot with water to exactly the "2" mark for [Plain] rice, dry off any water on the outside of the pot, insert pot in rice cooker, and press the [Plain] rice button. It took about 25 mins to cook and then it switched to keep warm. The rice tasted so great! Some tips I found online to keep the inner pot intact over many years and from peeling is to wash the rice in a separate bowl and then transfer it into the rice cooker pot... not sure if this is necessary but perhaps it will help. Note, the only thing that is strange is that the inside of the lid had a small 2.5cm scratch, but it did not affect the rice cookers performance. Delivery: it was estimated to take five - six days for delivery and I was so excited that it arrived early; it only took two days! If you are wondering, because I once did, I was worried that the steamer would spew out water from the pressure control cap since there were images of this happening in some of the reviews, well it didn't, and I will add it to the review if it ever does it in the future. It's so simple to use, rice tastes wonderful. Great quality rice cooker.

Gran Producto
Me encanta.
