Does the snapmaker use g-code, and if so can you use g-code from another cam system ?

Our printer uses gcode, you can also use our luban to generate gcode, or use third-party software, such as Cura to generate gcode, thank you.

Can this cut thin, soft metals? Perhaps 1mm-2mm thick?

No. Neither the laser nor the CNC can engrave or cut metal. The Snapmaker 2.0 includes a 1.6W laser module. You can engrave on dozens of materials like plywood, leather, fabric, acrylic, bamboo, MDF, hardwood, cardboard, paper, and even food like cookies! For laser cutting, you can cut through cardboard, plywood, acrylic and other materials with similar properties.
