Is the flow rate similar to a regular straw or is it difficult to suck water through these straws?

The toddler using the cup is completely in control of the fluid released from the valve. Once pressure is applied to the straw and your toddler begins to drinks, liquid will continuously flow until pressure is released or your toddler stops drinking.

Is this cup Microwave safe?

The base of the Nuby No-Spill Flex Straw is microwave safe. We do not recommend microwaving the cup with the lid and straw attached. -Nuby USA

Where can I get replacement straws?

I just looked it up and it seems like the replacements cost more than replacing the cups. For the replacement spout that the straw connects to they want $5+ shipping. So around $10.
