The Popes Against Modern Errors: 16 Papal Documents
J**O
A must read for any serious Catholic
This book is a compilation of 16 Papal documents (of which 13 are Papal Encyclicals) spanning from 1832 to 1950. This is by far the most important book any Catholic - who still considers Vatican 2 a valid Catholic council - should read. There are many who clearly see the bad fruits of that council - such as a massive decline in consecrated religious, loss of priests, irreverent liturgies, disturbing church architecture, bad music, Vatican 2 Popes saying heretical and blasphemous things, loss of faith of the laity, parishes closing - and many wonder how did this happen. Well, this book gives the answer. Those bad fruits are the exact results predicted clearly in this book by Pope after Pope after Pope for hundreds of years, if certain heresies and errors would be allowed to spread across the world. And what happened? The exact same errors that were condemned in these Papal documents in this book (many in solemn ex-cathedra and infallible manner) were actually brought forth in Vatican 2 and officially promulgated in the Vatican 2 texts themselves. Thus, each successive Vatican 2 Papal claimant has officially taught from his ordinary magisterium errors and heresies that were once previously condemned by the Catholic Church.Listed below are 15 doctrinal errors clearly condemned in this book - all of which are now taught or tolerated by the Vatican 2 Church. The number beside each condemned doctrine is the number of how many encyclicals within this compilation alone are those doctrines condemned. And note, there are many many more Papal documents that are not a part of this compilation that also condemn these same doctrines!- Religious liberty (9x’s)- Freedom of conscience, freedom of press, etc (5x’s)- Religious indifferentism (7x’s)- Salvation outside the Catholic Church (5x’s)- Socialism and Communism (15x’s)- Freemasonry (11x’s)- Naturalism (4x’s)- Disolubility of Marriage (3x’s)- Evolution of Dogma (6x’s)- Church and State to be Separated (4x’s)- Modernism (4x’s)- Liberalism (1x)- Church to reconcile with modern world (1x)- Body of Christ includes Protestants (1x)- False ecuminism (3x’s)After reading these papal documents in this book, the reader will be left in awe pondering the stark reality that the doctrines now officially taught by the Vatican institution are the exact doctrines that were once condemned by the Catholic Church. It is precisely this realization that many faithful traditional Catholics across the world since Vatican 2 have categorically rejected Vatican 2 and its Papal claimants, and thus only attend the traditional Latin Mass with priests and clergy who are not in union with the Vatican 2 papal claimants.Buy this book, read this book, and learn the errors that we must ward off on a daily basis to keep the faith.

A Tremendous Book!!
Compilations of Papal documents are hard to come by, so on that basis alone this is a valuable and useful book. This particular compilation is an extraordinarily powerful and persuasive defense of orthodox belief against modernism: powerful because of the unrelenting clarity and consistency of thought, and persuasive, among other reasons, because so many of the Popes' direst predictions have sadly come to pass. Although every document herein is worthy of study, these happened to be my favorites:"For, once ascribe to human reason the only authority to decide what is true and what is good, and the real distinction between good and evil is destroyed..." Pope Leo XIII's encyclical "On the Nature of True Liberty" brilliantly explains and defends the concept of natural law, and how popular notions of liberty and tolerance are perverted when natural law is ignored, and how this perversion gravely harms man and society. Though written in 1888, this document perfectly describes what ails the government-citizen relationship in the USA and exactly how we can fix it."It is owing to their pride that they [modernists] seek to be reformers of others while they forget to reform themselves..." Pope St. Pius X's deeply philosophical encyclical "On Modernism" probes the essence of modern thought, revealing all of its hypocrisy, inconsistency, and spiritual dangers."The social question will be much nearer a solution when all those concerned, less demanding as regards their respective rights, shall fulfill their duties more exactingly." Although Pope St. Pius X's 1910 encyclical "Our Apostiolic Mandate" directly concerns the Church's proper response to a now obscure French Catholic social movement, it makes important points about how responsibility must accompany liberty--points sorely in need of making in the USA today.I think Catholics who read these documents will gain a much better understanding of the Faith and valuable insight into the "culture of death" that seeks to destroy it. For non-Catholics, the book could also be most helpful in understanding the role of the Pope in the Church and society--a role that is often misunderstood or viewed in the worst possible light. With Pope John Paul II's passing, we were all reminded of his crucial role in bringing down communism. This kind of historic and positive Papal influence is nothing new: Pope Leo XIII's "On the Condition of the Working Class", a monumental encylical from 1891, was enormously influential in bringing justice to the working classes in the West, and sturdying our defenses against the coming onslaught of communism, a challenge Pope Leo saw a good many years before most did. One can hardly read such documents and not sense the presence of truth, and perhaps the divine.

Upon this Rock I will build My Church.
These teachings of the Popes are very relevant for all Catholics. They provide a defensive Catholic position against the external assaults of evil. More importantly, these documents oppose the much more subtle and dangerous attacks from the ranks of heretics, who presume to be within the Church. The selected documents found in this book are, in chronological order:On Liberalism (Mirari Vos). Gregory XVI. 1832.On Current Errors (Quanta Cura). Pius IX. 1864.The Syllabus of Errors. Pius IX. 1864.On Government Authority (Diuturnum Mud). Leo XIII. 1881.On Freemasonry and Naturalism (Humanum Genus). Leo XIII. 1884.On the Nature of True Liberty (Libertas Praestantissimum). Leo X111. 1888.On the Condition of the Working Classes (Rerum Novarum). Leo XIII. 1891.On Christian Democracy (Graves de Communi Re). Leo XIII. 1901.Syllabus Condemning the Errors of the Modernists (Lainentabili Sane). St. Pius X. 1907.On Modernism (Pascendi Dominici Gregis). St. Pius X. 1907.Our Apostolic Mandate (On the "Sillon"). St. Pius X. 1910.The Oath Against Modernism. St. Pius X. 1910.On the Feast of Christ the King (Quas Primas). Must read
So many things I didn’t know. It’s a very informative read. It will boggle the mind to read what the Popes have said about things today that people think are good and just. Wish I had read this book years ago

These Pope's were right.
I can now see what these supposedly reactionary Pope's were trying to do, viz. to hold the line against error and people of bad intentions. Unfortunately, in this corrupt and decadent postmodern age, error and evil have won out. Highly recommended from one who is not a Catholic.

Study the Churches Historical Documents to Avoid Heresy and Errors
In the post-Concilliar Church most of the erroneous positions held by the shepherds have already been condemned by previous popes and councils. Many of the heresies that our modern day bishops, priests, clergy, etc. subscribe to are not new. Perhaps if seminaries actually taught things from before Vatican II, the crisis in the Church would not be to such an extent that it is.

Everyone should read
Protect yourself from the modernism that comes from almost all prelates and priests these days. Religious liberty is wrong. Conciliarity is wrong. Etc.
