Boss Captain’s Chair In Black Vinyl W/ Casters

We shopped around for quite a while to try and replace the chairs that came with our dining/game table. When we purchased the table and chairs 35 years ago we never expected to keep the set this long. But the table really fills our need in space and functionality. The chairs, however, are really falling apart and have been for about 10 years. I have repaired them 3 times and recovered once, but they are just not worth fixing and recovering again. As a result, we have been looking for replacement chairs and finally found these.First impression, good looking chair, and the picture does not do it justice. Nowhere near as shiny, but a richer deeper color. I wish they were leather, not vinyl, but look at the price again. For the price I can live with killing a few pleather animals.Assembly: Instructions are comic book simple and you really need to sit down and read them before beginning. Full assembly took about 20 minutes and was not too difficult. If I had read the instructions first, it would have been about 10 minutes and very simple to do. (Hey, how many men even look at, let alone keep the instructions.) All screws go into pre-drilled fittings so are very easy to attach. All fittings come on a single card and are laminated in place - easily removable. Includes allen wrench - you will also need a screwdriver; no other tools needed. (Instructions may be seen at: [...] )Sitting: Once assembled the chair is exceedingly comfortable. I was a little worried about the chair height because of the casters. The final height of the seat is 15 1/2 inches +/- above the floor. My wife is 5'5" and the length is fine for her. The chair is also very comfortable for me at 6'. Our only problem, and it is slight, is that the chair arm runs into the bottom of the table. It would be nicer to have about an inch of clearance, but ... this is not a deal breaker for us.Quality: I would rate this as a high quality, very comfortable chair. Value for price is very high.Now that we have this chair, we will be ordering 3 more to complete the set. Not sure yet; we may even get a couple extra for guests and not use the folding chairs for them. Overall, a very high recommendation from both of us as to quality, comfort, and price. Not saying we liked the chair or anything, but just a week later received the other 3 that I had ordered as soon as "she who must be obeyed" approved and asked when the others were expected to arrive. Assembly (now that I know what I am doing) takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Removal from box and prep to assemble takes about 5 to 10 min each. You will have to use your own Phillips head screwdriver. We now have the set of 4 that I needed to replace our old chairs. Really a good looking, comfortable group now.

This chair is really nice-looking, solid, assembles pretty easily with included Allen wrench (you’ll still need a Phillips screwdriver for part of it) and rolls easily - I really wanted it to work out, but the purpose of it was as an office chair that I spend 40+ hours a week in, for that it’s simply too short and uncomfortable for me. It would be best maybe for someone not taller than 5’. Included photo of it next to average height office chair on lowest setting to show difference. I lowered my desk all the way down as far as it would go but was still sitting at mid-chest with this chair, which made me hold my arms up weird all week, which caused my shoulders to hurt by Friday. Yes it’s nice, but not right for me. Returning.

This chair is just what I needed- I am so proud to own it. Putting it together took about 30 minutes. Anyone sitting in this chair will be able to relax in comfort. The blood red color stated is actual not the case- it is a much richer color, just as previous reviewers indicated. I am so delighted with it. It looks expensive, as if it should cost about $300.CRAFTSMANSHIP:Very well constructed- excellent design. The seat area is big enough for any booty. I have another chair that some customers cannot sit in so this is a very desirable feature (one or two reviewers mentioned it had ample seating area too). I was very pleasantly surprised that I did not have to install the casters to the base of the legs- I was dreading it, and sighed in relief. These people take really good care of us to make sure that we have very little stress putting the arm chair together, and I thank them for that.So ladies- have no fear of buying this chair- you can do it. JUST MAKE SURE to remember to LOOSELY twist/screw the long nails into the long and short sides. AFTER the seat cushion is forced into place (we women are not as strong as men) you can then finish tightening the long nails.PACKAGING:I cannot say enough about the packaging- it was well thought out, every corner that could possible have scuff marks was generously protected with bubble wrap and some insulated tape too. All in all, I highly recommend this chair. So far Amazon is my favorite place to buy household items. This is the second purchase, and I am so glad I have an ally I can trust- I can safely, and securely make purchases that are amazing in quality, price, and durability. Can I get an Amen!

I've bought a lot of furniture to put together over the years, and I truly mean it when I say this is one of the best pieces I've ever gotten. Shipping was fast -- I received the chair within 3 days. The packaging was carefully done, the instructions were easy, the holes lined up for the screws beautifully, and the construction is sound. I think you can tell it's vinyl when you look at it, but it does not look cheap. The seat is very cushy, and the armrests are at a perfect height (they will slide under your average 30" desk, as they're slightly over 25 inches high, including the casters). The casters, by the way, are sturdy. The colors of both the seat and the wood frame are beautiful, and the stud trim (which I hadn't noticed upon purchase) are a nice touch.Note: Sounds like some folks had difficulty with holes and screws not lining up. Not sure if they did this, but you have to put in ALL the screws very loosely, not even halfway, before you tighten any of them (especially when attaching the seat back/ armrests). The instructions do indicate this.

It never mentions how short these chairs are. My table is 31" tall and they look like children's chairs at a normal sized dinner table. They are comfortable, and they are even beautiful, the color is perfect, everything is perfect, but the seat height from the seat to the floor is barely 15". So if you wanted to sit at a regular 31" table, the table would seem too high to enjoy a meal or play cards. Very disappointed, but unfortunately, we threw away the box it came in, so we're stuck with it. We are thankful that we only bought one, to try it before we bought 4 more. It's such a shame that they don't tell people that the seat height is barely 15". Now we just keep moving that one lonely chair around the house, trying to find a place to get it out of the way. The quality is great, the burgundy color is beautiful, it's comfortable, but it's just too low. We had one friend try it out and it took 2 of us to pull him out of the chair.

Went together easily. Did break a screw cap but they include an extra so all is good. Instructions were OK, not great but OK. I did have to infer from pictures but it was all there.Super cushy seat. Feels sturdy. Guests have loved them (I bought 2). Wheels are fantastic - I can roll across the room seated with just a single push. Would happily buy again. Might end up buying another pair next month if I can figure where to fit them in.

I bought this chair because our desk is in our huge living room and not in an office setting. I wanted a chair that was attractive and fit with our living room.Here are the things that I like about the chair- Overall it is a good looking chair. I like the rivets and it closely matches that of the picture. The quality is decent for the price and its nice it has wheels. Not overall to shabby in the comfort department either. assembly was easythings that I dont like about this chair:1) Maybe this was an odd choice for a desk. at least a smaller desk. The desk that I have is on the small side but fairly standard I think. This chair is a lot bigger than I thought it was. It makes the desk look way smaller than it is. It is a big chair. i didnt realize how big it was.2) You have to sit all the way in the back of the chair because the cushion is so bubbly. maybe in time it will flatten, but it is pretty firm and raised at this point. its weird to sit on the edge.3) It came with nicks and scratched and I need to get a cosmetic wood pen or marker to color over where the wood is flawed. I hate when this happens. the package was not damaged so I can only assume the wood part of the product is on the cheap side. not worth my time to return you know? rather dissapointing.I would have picked a different chair to be honest, but it isnt going to offend me to have it in my home. i am slightly torn either way and I just dont care enough to find another more suited for me. It is more attractive then an office chair2)

We ordered 8 of these chairs to replace some well worn chairs in the bar area of our American Legion Post. I was a bit nervous with the low price point because we needed some chairs that would stand up to heavy use. Assembly was required but it was not very difficult and the chairs were put together by myself in about 3 hours. One of the chairs had a manufacturing flaw in on the armrest, where the finish was not applied at the factory and there was a 2 inch square bare spot on the inside of the leg. I packed it up and returned it to Amazon and we had a replacement within a week. So far, the chairs are holding up well and we have received quite a few customer compliments on the comfort and look of the new chairs. These are not what I would call "fine furniture" but they look good and seem to hold up well. I would recommend these for waiting rooms, and other commercial applications. We are considering ordering another 30 chairs for our dining room. One of the best things was the free shipping and excellent returns policy at Amazon.

I bought 2 of these chairs for $79 each and it was definitely a good buy.Easy to assemble and sturdy as well.They were a little stiff at the start but once they got broken in the comfort was there.I thought the casters would be a problem but they were a benefit.Really happy with them

Box was trashed, wooden legs scratched and chipped, and impossible to assemble because hardware is missing. Customer service totally unhelpful in assisting with solution.

Lovely and comfortable beautiful color, set in it for 4 hrs had no problem with back support great.
