now THIS is a work shirt
Heavy cotton. Takes a bit of getting used to if you're used to the cheezy cheap 'work shirts' sold now. Stiffer fabric, but I really like that. NOTE - yes they do run BIG but will definitely shrink to fit. My first one felt so big, I was looking in the package for tent poles. But after several HOT washings, it fits fine. Loose, easy to move around in. If your line of work requires really abrasion resistant clothing, this is your shirt.

The Real Deal
I bought one of these in 1988 (or, thereabouts) at a feed & farm supply store on the West coast. It was my favorite shirt and I have worn it, and worn it and it is completely frayed around the cuffs and collar and it is as thin as can be. It's been in my closet for years, really too worn out to wear anymore--but, I just couldn't ever bring myself to throw it out. I am so happy to have a new one. That old shirt was a 3XL--I was warned, back then at the store, that they shrink, so I bought 2 sizes larger than I normally wear. Seriously, it seemed a little too big after the first wash, but after many washings and me growing bigger just a bit, it began to fit as you'd expect. It also got softer and softer. It is a classic work shirt. Don't expect to be able to wear it out on the town--it ain't spiffy and it won't turn heads and any compliments you might get won't be about how nice it looks. They'll be about its old fashioned, heavy duty, no nonsense practicality. I love this shirt--it is the real deal.

Runs Large
I bought a medium. I'm 150lbs, 6'0", on the slimmer side. Most other jackets and sweaters I wear are a medium fit. I bought a Medium size in this Logger Shirt, and it runs pretty big in width of the sleeves and body. I'm going to have to remove a few inches from each to make it fit well. I bet a small would have fit me much better but I'm worried that the length would've been too short. So I stuck with the medium and luckily I work in a sewing shop so I'm just going to tailor it to fit myself. Great quality though. Very sturdy. Can't wait to wear it. Not made for skinny people.

Plus this shirt is as heavy and warm as good canvas shirt which is hard to find now and ...
I took advice of another and purchased a size larger, then washed and dried in HOT-HOT water this brought the X-Large down to Large and that's just right. Plus this shirt is as heavy and warm as good canvas shirt which is hard to find now and only Negative is the button holes are to small but I'll just have to put up with that. Thanks all the previous owners for sharing their experience with this shirt. This is my 2nd order on this shirt.later 11/4/2016 This shirts needs a 10 Star. Purchased my 3rd since good canvas shirts are no more. The button holes I mentioned in previous is not a problem, they just are easier with use. Top quality on material - workmanship makes for best appearance and certainly COMFORT. Buy a size larger then wash and dry HOT-HOT about 3 times for the most comfortable shirt you ever had.

An excellent traditional railroad work shirt.
Order this shirt a size larger than you think you are. Wash it in hot water and dry it aggressively, and it will settle down into a more reasonable fit. After that, wash it more reasonably--warm water and low-temp dry. That has been the nature of cotton work clothes for 100 years or so. It will take 5-10 washes before the fibers relax and it becomes a comfortable article of clothing. That is simply the nature of traditional cotton fabrics. This shirt's fabric is more like light sailcloth than ordinary shirt cloth--but that is exactly what one should expect from a classic work shirt..The shirt is well-made (mine was made in Pakistan) and nicely approximates the kinds of heavy, relatively unsophisticated work clothing of a century or more ago. If given reasonable care, I think this shirt will last many years. It is a very good value.

Heaviest of breed
I have one of these from another maker. This is heavier. This has more stitching along the back and down the sides. It said large. Came a bit larger. Washed down to great for t for work, hanging out. With a tank or tee, it’s a shirt jacket. Yup. That heavy.

Quality, Function, and Style
Bought for my Dad in a large and had to exchange for a medium. He loves it. It is a quality shirt, heavy. Could be worn as a light jacket over a shirt or even a hoody. But my Dad is not much of a hoody guy...he is in his 80's and this shirt reminds him of his love of the railroad -- the fabric is definitely a throwback to times when clothes were not disposable and lasted a lifetime. Good product. I bought him three different styles by Key Apparel and he loves them all. They also have the pen slot in the pocket which is a must for him.

this is a good heavy work shirt
Other than the fitting, this is a good heavy work shirt. I ordered the large, based on reviews that it would come super sized but shrink with washing. I got a little too much shrink in sleeve length, and not nearly enough in the torso, width wise. I normally wear a large or large long, the extra width in this shirt could easily fit XL or perhaps bigger. I'm 6' average build, for size reference.

Ok shirt, good material but finish was not great
I was really looking forward to this shirt. It was imported from the States so I expected the material to be goo and I was not disappointed. It was not expensive but I was disappointed with the quality of the shirt, the cut was not great, it was missing a button and the seams were not particularly great rather. It wou,d have been fine for a outside work shirt and dis look like it would be hard wearing, I retuned it because of the button and may get another in the future. It’s fit was large for its stated size, if you are an XL i wou,d go for a Large unless you intend to wear it as an light jacket.
