A must for anyone involved in teaching/training
Teaching technology has often been subject to fads, political pandering, and bad practices. In the UK very little effort seems to have been applied to real research into this area, despite the huge amount of money tied up in skilling people for jobs both in work and in educational establishments. Ten years ago I attended a Ruth Colvin Clark course on USA that was focused on what made good interactive technical training required and how to develop suitable materials. It was both relevant and effective for the role I had. Recently I was looking to update this area of my life and this book along with a later Clark book have proved to be exactly what I needed. It really does provide the basis for good instructional design. It is well researched and very well written.
