Very stylish tap
We were a little nervous about buying this tap having read several reviews stating that it leaked, or the boiler unit required replacement. However, we are two weeks in and so far, so good. The tap does not drip or leak (yet!) and we have been very impressed with it. The water is definitely boiling, and makes a great cup of tea. The filtered water is great, and definitely tastes better than regular London tap water. The hot is hot, and the cold is cold. We bought it in the stainless steel which (we think) looks great, and our builders didn't seem to have any trouble installing it. Builder even commented that it was a 'quality tap'. Fingers crossed, it continues to serve us well.

This product is great when it works
This product is great when it works.I am operating the tap for 6 years. During this period I had a number of issues including full replacement of heat tank, weak flow of filtered boiled and filtered water, leak from inside the tap, stiff handle, on some stage I had strange noise from the tap (filtered cold and boiled water). Most of the time Franke customer team is very friendly and is fast to respond and there is 5 year warranty on the product. At the same time, in order to receive replacement spares you have to go through a one page 10 step check list (measure flow rate, remove filter and check it without filter, etc, etc). Most of people does not have skills and interest to do all those checks...When you pay £1,000 for a tap you are expecting to operate it without any issue for a couple years at least, but not spend time doing checks, talking to customer service, getting spares and fitting it yourself or looking for a plumber to install...Great idea, nice looking and stylish product, but poor quality.Update after end of warranty period:- heating tank broken again, as the result no boiling water. Should I buy a new franke tank for £400 or buy a band new tap of some other manufacture for £550? For sure I will not be buying new franke product again.

Great tap, now it no longer drips
I love this - it was expensive but the water is hot enough for tea, which was essential and when I had my kitchen refitted, this was my luxury item! I cannot fault it. However, I gave it 4 stars because when it was first fitted, it constantly dripped. My builder looked online and said this seemed to be a common fault. I contacted Franke who were very helpful and sent me some spares to repair it, offering details of a company who could do it for me (at a price). My lovely builder sorted it for me but given the price of the tap, I was surprised Franke didn't have more interest in ensuring it worked perfectly without me potentially having to incur more costs, especially if this is a common issue.

Definitely suffering buyers regret
We purchased our Omni boiling water tap when we had our kitchen installed five years ago after being talked into it by the installer. I have to say it’s been a massive disappointment especially for a company with Franke’s reputation. We are now on or third boiler unit after both of the previous units failed both in and around 18 months after installation and under warranty. We have replaced the filters every 6 months as we live in a hard water area which isn’t cheap at nearly £45 each. Our biggest issue is just the flow through the unit for both hot and filtered water that is not much better than a dribble on most days but then on the odd day seems to improve to a stronger flow for a bit. We have been told that if our current unit fails it will be out of warranty, in which case we will remove it completely.

the product was great, except that two rubber washers had been changed ...
As always, with Franke, the product was great, except that two rubber washers had been changed to a different design, but the installation manual and the Youtube did not mention this. I spent a lot of time looking for the washers, before deciding that the two other washers which looked very different to those in the instruction, could also work. The water filter does not have clear arrow, telling the installer which is the inlet water and which is outlet. You have to intuitively work it out.The Youtube instruction avoids all the difficult parts of the installation and limits itself to the straight forward and simple parts.Better marking (or colour coding) on all the components would be more helpful. In summary, much better installation instructions and Youtube clip is needed. Now that I have installed it, it is a great product.

Long term failure
This tap looks great and when it works is very convenient. We have had one for 6 years now. Like a number of reviewers we had tank failures early on and Franke were good at replacing them. Over the last 18 months, post warranty, we have had to replace the valve mechanisms on both sides of the tap after it started leaking and then had to replace the spout when it’s internal seal failed making the tap scaldingly hot when using the boiling water. This week one of the hoses failed spraying boiling water all over the cupboard beneath the sink. Fortunately we were in when this happened or serious damage could have been done. We now have to replace the entire tap. Overall we have spent an additional £600 replacing parts.I’ve not had to replace any other tap components in my house in 25 years other than the odd washer.I do like the tap when it works but honestly the most expensive kettle in the world would have been better value and probably lasted longer. Can’t recommend it.

Good product.
We have had the Franke water heater for three years and been delighted. It has just started to have a slow water feed and I have ordered a new in- line filter. Will be writing an update based on the ease of fitting and if it actually works.
