Awesome for the Price
Been surfing short boards and mid-lengths for years. Didn't want to spend a grand on a longboard. This board is a wave-catching machine. Great for smaller surf. Caught wave after wave yesterday in 1-2 foot Florida surf. Lots of fun. Turns easily. If you don't expect killer performance, you can't go wrong with this board. Perfect first board to learn on.

Great beginner board for adults and kids
Great beginner board to tackle to basics of surfing. This is a board that you can actually make progress on as a beginner like balance, paddling, popping up, and riding the wash. I’m a 38 year old man and just started surfing a month ago. I purchased this board as I read many reviews and all signs pointed to the 8’ Wavestorm as a great board. A month into surfing and I can confirm it is. I surf the outer banks almost everyday and although I am still figuring out body position and paddle technique, I am riding about 40% of the waves I go for. This board has helped me not get frustrated, as it is easier to paddle and pop up on than the traditional boards I see more advanced surfers on. If you think you will look like a noob out there on this board, you will. Just own it, and let people in the line know you are new and still learning, most likely they will tell you that they started on the same kind of board and will be there to help you out. Also, my 9 year old son uses this same board and is now able to paddle and stand up on a wave all by himself. Good board for me (a 200lb 38 year old) and my son (a 60lb 9 year old)!! Now my only problem is going to work instead of going to the beach! Enjoy!

WILL PROBABLY NEED WAX!
Had these when I was younger (5-7 years ago) and learned how to surf on them. Moved from CA to FL and got these to ride smaller waves and teach my boyfriend (205 lbs) how to surf. 1. These do need wax, I am an experienced surfer and race paddle boards and I was falling off this board when paddling and slipped off every time I stood up till I waxed it. 2. My boyfriend is 205 lbs ABOVE THE WEIGHT LIMIT, the board works for him, luckily hes very out doorsy and athletic so he's picking it up but if you are close to the weight limit and not experienced, might not be for you. Having a smaller board makes it more difficult to balance when paddling, once you stand up it is not a big deal. Amazing boards for kids, but I will suggest waxing up the boards or else they might be slipping off a ton:)

Excellent board for new surfers
This board is an excellent choice for new surfers as it is 1) relatively easy (86 litres of float!) 2) safer than expoy or poly as it is softer and 3) it looks good! It comes with a nice surfboard sock and leash, so you're ready to hit the waves straight out of the box. (After attaching the fins, which was very easy.) My only negative comment is that this was the second board I ordered as the first got damaged in shipping. They could use a little heavier cardboard box to for shipping to protect it, but my second board arrived safe and sound. (I am an intermediate surfer with three other boards and purchased this one for friends to use when they visit. I used it myself this morning and it was fun!)

Maybe not for everyone but works perfectly for my needs
These are good boards if you're thinking you might wanna learn to surf because the price is great for a new board, it assembled very easily, no tools required just a quarter to tighten the fins. Great value for learning and good quality for the price I was presently surprised as u had expected a lot less for the price. I wouldn't recommend if you want to do crazy tricks or for the advanced surfboarders or pickey connoisseur. My girlfriend and I just wanted to learn to surf and knew we did so it was a great investment as opposed to renting we've already used them 4 times since I purchased them less then a month ago but sure exactly how much rentals are these days but I'm sure it'll pay for itself in saved rental cost after 10 or so uses which they'll get before the end of next month so all in all good buy and I do recommend under the correct circumstances. Perfect for me
