Great item for the price!
These work great for 2.5 SSDs and RPis. 2.5 HDDs may or may not work. If I run my pi4 with a screen and plug in a 2.5 HDD it will flicker my screen due to trying to power both. If I use this plugged into a 2.5 HDD and my desktop its no issue. Great to build a little Pi NAS. or to use to transfer info or to check drives quickly.

Very handy for laptop drive upgrades and transfers.
I use these to cram one more drive into SFF desktops and laptop work. Not going to work on most 5.25 drives due to spin up voltage sag but all SSD and mechanical 2.5 drives will be reliable using these if you don't exceed your USB header voltage loads. Rarely, some ports won't run 2 bus powered drives at a time. An absolute must have tool for your geek bench.

Crap. Starts ok. Then junk.
Running into a problem a couple times. Not 100% sure if it is the item or the windowz garbage software. I keep an 2tb solid drive connected for storage. 1st of 3 of these I have "burned out"(?) or whatever and will now stay register for long. have to unplug and plug back in to reset. Then later on it cuts out again. This 3rd of 3 one is doing it a couple times now. 1 of 3 does not work at all on another pc I have set up. 2 of 3 is working ok. But not on a PC that is as power user based as this one I am on now. Good as an overall choice. May just have to work out port issues or the like with it. 2nd or 3rd one of these I bought. They all do the same. start out ok. Then in a couple months the usb fails to recognize. It keeps disconnecting and you have to unplug to get it to reset. God knows garbage windows don't help but did the whole thing. Reset the usb driver. made sure the "hibernate" usb is off. etc. Not advised product.
