Players looking for a bass with hot features and a look that's anything but ordinary should look no further. Badwater Bass guitars have wicked distressed bodies and come with alnico pickups, the preferred brand by many of today's best artists. No area was spared from the destruction -- even the headstock and backplate have vintage distressing. Available with two classic pickup configurations, Badwater guitars have a one-of-a-kind style and excellent playability. The crackle brown/white finish has a reptilian texture throughout its body. The off-white finish has a rusted, phantom-like appearance. The brown finish model has the look of a museum-quality guitar stored away for decades. Model: Badwater Bass Pickguard: Classic-Style, Distressed Headstock Finish: Natural, Distressed with Burned AXL Logo Headstock Detailing: None Body: Solid Alder Neck: Rock Maple Fretboard: Rosewood Hardware: Antiqued / Anodized Inlay: Dot Bridge: Antiqued Classic Bridge Pickups: Split, Alnico Controls: Volum Review: I've tricked so many people... - I've been playing bass about 17 years. I've owned Squier basses to Warwick, Ibanez to Status. This AXL bass is such a fun guitar to perform with. Because not many people have heard of AXL, whenever i get done gigs, people are always like, "What a beautiful bass, the tone is just amazing, where did you get it?" I reply, "I got it off desertcart for less than $200", and that fact usually drops jaws. If you set up this bass correctly, it really is a great buy. As seen in other posts, the tuning is stiff, that's a bit of a bummer but otherwise the bass performs as it should. The neck is a bit temperamental, but i must note again that this bass wasn't even $200 when I purchased it. Overall, greay bass for your buck!
