Q: This obviously is a modified player. does it still come with a full Sony warranty?

The player is unlocked the warranty is void - it comes with the seller warranty

Q: Will this player work to play dvds w/o an intenet connection?

Yes it does. Mine works fine without ever have been conected to the internet.

Q: i seen a review on here that someone said it well play any normal dvd from anywhere in the world just fine but it wont do the same with blue ray movie

I have played both region A and region B dvds. The machine default is region A. To change to either region B or C you need to first open the drive slot and while empty depress the blue button for region B and red button for region C. If you need to switch to region A without turning the machine off depress the yellow button. There should have been a separate sheet with these instructions included with the machine.

Q: What is the model number for the remote control if I need to buy a replacement?

RMT-B126A - Also, as a note, I have a Sony BDP-S560 Blu-Ray Player and that remote also will interact with the S1200 as well as the S1200 remote interacts with the BDP-560. The reason I am telling you this is should you have another Sony device with a remote control you may find both remotes interacting with both devices. This can be a hassle when you're wanting to watch something using the S1200 and every time you turn it on by its remote the other device comes on as well. Just FYI.
