I was pretty skeptical at first when I saw this product for a number of reasons. Obviously, there are some concerns about the way it fits on the car rack. The second, was because of the price. Often you hear the phrase, you get what you pay for. And third, I was unsure how durable this product would be, and I was concerned it would fall apart while transporting my kayaks to the lake. Well, I have to say I am extremely impressed with these kayak racks. They are extremely durable, easy to put together and equally easy to mount to my car. I was concerned it would not fit my crossbar, but was Pleasantly surprised when it only took me five minutes to put on my car. You can see by the pictures in my review how nice these racks fit on my crossbar. I’m actually really excited about this purchase and Love that I can easily take these on and off when I wanna get out to the lake. The only Concern I have with this purchase are with the straps. The straps themselves seem to be durable, but the buckle does not seem to hold very well. I would definitely look into a higher quality, locking mechanism type buckle. Overall, I think this was a great purchase and an incredible price.

Works super good for kayaks and paddle boards!

Easy to install, even for someone who did not know what the heck she was doing. I have used them to transport my kayaks a number of times and the hooks work great! The straps, however, are not adequate at all. They aren't ratchet straps, just little straps that pull through some metal teeth. They are flimsy and don't allow you to tighten them as much as necessary.

I read all the reviews first. Seems people have problems with the wing nuts vibrating lose. I can see why, they’re very easy to loosen, so I used duct tape to keep them from spinning. It worked great. All parts were in the box and assembly was easy. Just have to make sure the rubber cover doesn’t get pinched under the head of the bolts. Great for the price. I did ad my own trusty ratchet strap in the middle just for extra support.

I love these racks! The are very sturdy and a great value for the price I paid. Fit my car great and went on easily. Both my kayaks felt safe and secure on the car while driving an hour. Haven't taken them for a longer trip yet, but I am confident that they would do fine. Got some scratches on them already from my ratchet straps, but haven't noticed any rust so far.

I recently purchased my first kayaks - nothing fancy, just basic recreational kayaks - and am new to this activity. The racks installed easily on the cross bars I purchased. The bolts, nuts and washers are good quality. We do a check every time we load up and have not experienced any loosening of the hardware. The ratchet straps are a little on the narrow side but secure the kayaks well. I imagine that in time they will need to be replaced but considering the price of this set up, replacement straps in the future isn't a big deal to me. The foam padding on the racks seems sturdy also. We have not noticed any tearing, compression or flaking. We have only been using the racks for about 3 weeks now (and we are getting out about 3x a week) so I cannot say how this set up will do over time, but judging by usage so far I expect these racks to hold up well and am pleased with this purchase.

Terrible. 2nd time using. Brackets will not tighten down and slide. Staps wont hold tight and Kayaks come out of the brackets. We strapped back down. Tie wrap broke bracket slide to center of roof tacket. We put plastic tie wraps to hold brackets from moving. And had extra straps to hold on. We turned around to go home and one kayak came half off drug on the road and dented my car. Brackets are in the trash.

It’s shown as being foldable in the intro advertisement. They’re not foldable! Sending them back!
