Excellent all in one pool cleaning robot from AIPER
There's a lot of upside to owning an in-ground swimming pool. It's great to unwind in it after a hard day at work. It's great to cool off in it during hot weather. Throw in some cool lighting effects in and around the pool and you've got a great place for parties. The downside has always been the maintenance. I have a professional pool guy that comes once a week but even with that there's plenty of upkeep to do in between.Thankfully, technology has come to the rescue. It is now possible to automate much of the pool maintenance process. There's still *some* human involvement necessary but the workload has been cut significantly by devices such as this one. There's plenty of pool cleaning robots on the market but after trying a bunch of lower end models I've finally realized that in this case you definitely 'get what you pay for'. There's not a device to do it all (at least not yet) and that has necessitated a small army of pool cleaning robots to do my bidding. As far as do it all devices this one is close. Overall it is one of the best. It's specialty is cleaning the walls and floors of your pool. It's also got a cool waterline cleaning functionality. Much of the work is down by a downright burly pair of PVC rollers and a quad brushless motor system. It really goes to town on stains. Combined with the wall climbing technology which *still* blows me away it gets all of the surfaces of your pool nice and clean. Unlike many competing pool cleaners this one can handle all different shapes of pools, materials and even surfaces that aren't perfectly flat.It couldn't be easier to use. Just charge it up and it's ready to go to work. It'll clean for 180 minutes and then park itself at the nearest wall when its work is done or the battery is low. You literally just turn it on, throw it in the pool and it goes to work. Removal is simple and the thing drains extremely fast so you won't get all wet. AIPER technology is second to none and this is one of the best pool cleaning devices you'll find anywhere. Highly recommended!

Great robot but so confused by Aiper model numbers. Is this an S1 or N1? Read for recommendations
Aiper is my favorite brand for entry-level and mid-level pool robots (there are others, like BeatBot, that make excellent high end robots if you have a $1,000+ budget). And this Aiper model is no exception - excellent overall quality and performance for a mid-level robot. But I have a huge gripe with Aiper - they have SO many different models, I can't keep them straight, or tell which features they have. This one says N1 on the box on unit, but says S1 in the title. So which is it? Is N1 a sub-category of S1? Of the dozens (possibly hundreds) of different Aiper models, half of them seem to be named S1.Here's the rub - this one seems almost identical to an S1 I tested for a hundred dollars cheaper, and was even on sale for $440 for Memorial Day and Fathers Day. So I'm not sure if this N1/S1 is a good value or not, currently at $699.This model (N1/S1, whatever it is) does have a newer feature that I haven't seen before - a 7 day setting. If you're on vacation, or otherwise not using your pool, you can plop it in the water and it will clean for 45 minutes every 48 hours, for a total of 3 cycles. Definitely a neat feature - and this may be a big value proposition for you.Otherwise it's pretty similar to less expensive models. So here's what I can tell you:This does NOT have any app control. The settings are on-board only - very easy to use, but only 4 cleaning modes. I only need the basic cleaning modes, and I personally don't care about using an app. But some people do, and there are other S1 models that work with the app and have 10 or 11 cleaning modes. So keep that in mind. This only has roller brush. It is split in half, so there are two halves working independently - but the nicer robots have 2 rows of rollers. This has an easy-to-remove top load basket, with a high micron filter. The nicer robots have a double basket, two baskets that set inside each other, for two levels of filtration. This has the classic Aiper navigation. It uses sensors to avoid obstacles, and actually learns your pool, mapping the most efficient way around. This ensures it hits every corner, and also ensures more efficient use of the battery. All Aiper mid-grade and high-grade models have the advanced navigation, a definite edge over the competition. This has a mid range battery - 7,800mAh. Some of the less expensive robots have smaller batteries, but the higher end robots have 10,000-13,000mAh batteries. It will run 150 minutes, whereas some of the higher end robots will run 180 minutes. This has a water sensor - it won't turn on unless/until it's in the water, which is a nice feature to preserve the motor from running dry and burning out. This has a pretty big range - up to 50 foot pool, or up to 1600 square feet. You really have to read the small print on some of these to figure out the features - like battery capacity, or how many brush rollers it has. So my advice is: (a) pick the model, or models, that have the features you're looking for, then (b) look for deals on Prime Day, Fathers Day, etc. This model gets a 4.5 stars for me - an excellent mid-range pool cleaner, but not sure if it's the best value.

Nice But Not Perfect
As robotic pool vacuums go, this is a nice one, but it has a few issues. Mainly, the fine particle filter has holes that allow a lot of dirt and sediment to escape, so it really isn't functional. Our main issue isn't leaves and large debris, which this vacuum does well with, but smaller particles, which this vacuum doesn't handle well.Compared to our previous Aiper, which had wheels, the treads on this one are a big improvement. It grips well, turns easily, and navigates the pool without getting stuck. It also has a feature that lets you leave it in the pool and program it to run every day. The battery life allows for about 3 to 4 cleanings, so that's a nice option if you're out of town.Overall, it might be great for you, and it is a nice vacuum, but we still really need a hand-held one that gets the fine debris.

High quality pool vac with powerful suction!
I ordered the Scuba S1 Pro for our large, 28 foot rectangle shaped pool, and I'm incredibly happy with the quality, design, and performance! This pool vac consistently does an incredible job cleaning the bottom of the pool and never misses a spot!! The suction is powerful and picks up any debris sitting on the bottom of the pool. The battery life is probably what I like most as we can clean our pool twice, sometimes three times, before needing to charge it again. The charging time is also pretty fast for a cordless pool vacuum, which is yet another excellent feature!Overall, this is a very high-quality, well designed pool vacuum that works consistently well. I would highly recommend the Scuba S1 Pro, especially if you have a larger pool! Thank you!!
