What do I like about the TM AVA BASE? First, you can feel the difference between a mechanical gimbal base from a regular base which is the resistance when you pull and push on the Axis. Second, the centering and calibration of the base is simple and straight forward, just push a button next to the power cord for 5 seconds or until Green LED starts blinking do not touch the joystic, push again center saved then move the Axis, push again, done. I have a joystick extension which make the joystick off center and with this calibration made extremely easy. Third, you have 3 spring choices and two cams ( jet of aero). If you fly combat simulator I find that the Jet cam is the way to go. The base only problem is the provided dampers are to soft which make the joystick a little jumpy if you let it go but when you are dogfighting is very rare that you will do that. Maybe flying helicopters will be and issue. The price. A little high but is worth it, every penny. Overall awesome!

Solid base and adjustable to your flying needs. Just wish the base was in the price so I kept 1 star, lol!

I have bought two of the HOTAS joysticks and base and 1 AVA base in the last 15 month. First one failed out of the box which they replaced after endless communications. The second one lasted 13 month so no warranty. I could send it to France. No idea on return. Instead I purchased an AVA $400.00 base only. Your chance of a smooth flight after hours of different trial and error. ZERO I have spent $1000.00 to try and fly this plane

This is the most frustrating item I have, its not just mine and others on ED forums. I have been flying thrustmaster for about 4 yrs. I have the viper mission pack as well as the F-18 flight stick. Everything I got was from Amazon, and I've had issue with all. Fortunately I was able to get some help from thrustmaster, but it took months of communication with them and then shipping them the item. Waiting for them to try to fix it, all this happens after your 30 day warranty expires. I purchased the AVA it didnt come when it was supposed to. Then why excited me, goes to plug it in at 7 pm, it doesn't work. I have a Sim pit so having to set this up and remove my OG base was not easy. So I flip out, start trouble shooting and nothing about 2hr later nothing. I gave up and was ready to return, and still might. I look online because nothing on YouTube about this but paid influencer. Oh I had gotten the firmware and driver, still nothing. Finally on ED forums they game me some tricks and was able to get it to expect my keybinds. After setting that up, I go to play and now with all that crazy work. My thrustmaster mission pack didn't work. So I had to get that to work, amd honestly dont really known how I did but I'll take it. So would I recommend, if you like the fight and have nothing else to lose. You got this.....

One of screw (use with large hex key) to adjust the tension spring is damaged and is stuck, making the adjustment difficult.
