Can these filters be washed in water without degrading their capability?

Absolutely not. The filters' main use is for filtering out organic compounds. This is achieved my means of activated carbon. The activated carbon will not work if made wet. For reference, I am able to use them pretty heavily for painting for about three months.

Will this filter out the hydrogen carboxylic acid, common name: formic acid, that is used in mite-away quick strips for bee hive mite treatment?

In the 3M Respirator Selection Guide (www.3M.com/respiratorselector) we suggest that either an acid gas cartridge (6002/60922) or a formaldehyde cartridge (6005/60925) may work better (longer service life) than the organic vapor cartridge (6001/60921) for filtering formic acid. Change out time is 30 days or 40 hours of use, and i opened my filters about 30 days ago but i have barley used them for an hour. do i need to change?

I change them as needed. I use mine infrequently as well, so change filters when I start feeling they are not effective anymore. Mine have lasted much longer than 30 days/40 hours.

How can i order another set of these for my husband's mask who is working directly with c-19 patients daily? he is wearing his own ppe!

If you can't get them here, try going directly to 3M. These things are twice as effective as ANY N95 mask. Good luck.
