So my husband and I follow about a dozen Asian lifestyle channels on tube of the you, and so many in Japan and Korea keep a chilled pitcher of barley tea on hand - especially during the summer months - I had to try it and I am so glad I did! As others have said, if you want a more robust flavor you'll want to bring to a boil, reduce and let simmer with the cover on for 15 minutes. At that point I add a little sweetener, let it get to room temp, pour into a big glass pitcher and keep it in the fridge. It has an almost mildly smoky, vaguely nutty flavor that's not strong, even when simmered for 15 minutes, and is utterly delicious. This is such a great way to have a cool, relaxing iced tea before bed, now I brew really large batches and it's gone within days. Treat yourself, you won't be sorry.

Happy to recommend this lemon ginger tea. I’ll start off with saying that I appreciate the foil lined bag to maintain its freshness. The resealable feature of the bag is a great plus. The tea bags, themselves, do not have a string - which is not terribly unusual. The flavor seems heavier on the ginger side. I can still taste the lemon, but the ginger flavor lingers. After steeping, I actually like this poured over ice with a little honey and find it very refreshing.

I actually add this to my miso soup base along with miso and dashi and bone broth, for added health benefits. This tea was recommended by a Japanese dr who practiced until he was 100 and lived to 105...on Hokkaido of course, a famous blue zone.
