Lord, Teach Me To Study the Bible in 28 Days

I love this book!! I've used it a couple times to lead Bible studies with women. If you're considering doing or leading a Precept Bible study, start with this study first! It goes through many types of studying. The first time we did it in 28 days. A couple years later we did it again, but slowed it way down and went through it together (no homework) and discussed it. Either way is good! (Depends on how much people are willing to do homework.) Get this book!

It is a great book. I have done the actual 28 days with a friend on zoom and it was not intimidating and we learn a more functional and yet practical way to study the Word of God. Highly recommend it.

Fantastic book. Learned so much.

I have a bachelors degree in Bible. I know the languages. I study it daily and teach it multiple times a week. In Israel I took the Essene vow, to accurately handle the word of truth. I am going through this book with my two college age sons in order to help them grow in their skill set. This has been a very practical and in-depth study. If you submit to the homework she has you do, it will be a huge blessing for you. It will help you grow in your skill set. I have grown in my skill set going through this book. It has been a refresher on some things, and she hits a very balanced angle on things. unlike other comments, there was no hidden agenda other than that you would know how to study scripture for yourself. In this book you will study the book of Jonah and the book of Jude. It will really help you understand it.

If you’re looking for a study that will help you approach the Bible in a different way, then Lord, Teach Me to Study the Bible in 28 Days by Kay Arthur will be right up your alley. The Critique: Arthur breaks down the book of Jonah in the first three weeks of the book and you really do learn quite a lot, while the final week is spent studying Jude. The first week definitely grabbed my attention, although I don’t do all of the highlighting and coloring as I’m not really that kind of person, I got a lot out of it just by underlining keywords and marking the “5 W’s and an H” (who, what, when, where, why, and how). What would’ve made this book better would be if it had more room to write down all of your notes within the book making it more like a workbook. I didn’t like having to have a separate notebook to write everything down as I like having everything all together. I also felt like the pacing of this book was a little rushed, some daily chapters were quite lengthy and involved. The book seemed to end very nicely in Jonah and so she could’ve spread Jonah out just a little bit longer without adding Jude. Even though the book of Jude is short and very insightful, ending a workbook in the same chapter you started in seems more complete and less like adding just to get a page count. Overall, this was a pretty good Bible study and would recommend for those wanting to get a deeper understanding of the Bible. If you are serious about wanting to know what the Word of God is about and wanting to learn it for yourself and not relying on what others tell you it says - then this is the method for you! But you have to be willing to DO it - not just read it. At first, it may seem mechanical to you and might say "why should I do all this"? I'll tell you why - because if you stick with it and get over the mechanical feel of it - the payback is enormous!!! You will see Truth for yourself and Jesus said - the Truth will set you free! You will learn how every chapter relates to the book and how to understand everything within its context and you will discover all this for yourself and truly understand the Word of God. This method will enable you to study any and all books of the Bible for yourself.

Did this study with women at my church. It’s a wonderful study. Women who were new to the Bible and those who’d been in the Word for years were excited about what they were learning.

Never done inductive bible study before and it was great! I had fun colouring in different words and noticed new things through this process even if it was a passage I was already familiar with

This is the first study I have done using this method... I can't get enough of it! Once I start working on it, time just flys by! You will learn SO MUCH, from passages that you have read many times before!!! With this way of studying the Bible, it will come to life for you! I am now leading a Bible Study group & we are doing it!!!
