I chose this item based on its positive reviews, generous size, and flexible storage options. Other options seemed too small to be functional, and the reviews on the other choices concerning ease of assembly and durability kept me coming back to this one. It's hefty. Assembly instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. It took me over four hours to assemble, but everything lined up and fit together perfectly. The vintage black matches our new computer desk exactly. Most importantly, the wife likes it! Yes, it's a little pricey, but look at the reviews on the other choices and you'll realize you get what you pay for. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

I purchased this cabinet because I wanted to replace my old metal 4-drawer cabinet following an office renovation. This is perfect. The color fits in with the rest of the driftwood trim I have. I put it together almost all by myself, maybe 90%. This is significant because I did this with one hand, not two. The instructions are easy to follow and there are video bar codes for a few tricky spots. I had to have help in a few spots so I didn't damage the particle board by misaligning pieces using only one hand. And this is a heavy, sturdy unit. I'm amazed at how well and tightly it fits together. It has a non-tip feature that secures the drawers in place and only allows one drawer to be open at a time. There is enough filing room to condense four standard drawers into these two drawers. This cabinet is cleverly designed and completely functional.

The frame is very solid but the drawer's bottom panel has a thin board and may not hold a lot of weight if items are placed for storage purposes. The file bar/divider is plastic, not sure how it will hold over a long period. Overall, it is a very nice looking file cabinet. As for assembly, plan on spending 2-4 hours. It comes with a lot of parts. The direction is clear and will get you to the finish line if you follow the steps.

This cabinet is tops in construction and quality of materials. However had I not had my brother who is a builder I never would have been able to put it together!!! It's made really well and the drawers work really smoothly, that I don't think they could have done anything to make it easier to assemble. Another really nice and important feature is there is a locking mechanism that only allows 1 draw at time to be opened so you can tip it cover. The finish of the white one is really pretty too. It's so nice it's hard to believe it was assembled furniture!!

I purchased this to go with my existing Archbold wood desk in Driftwood gray. It matches nicely and is a great value. It holds my letter size file folders (within hanging file folders). It took about 2.5 hours total to assemble. Instructions were clear and parts nicely marked. I am thinking about purchasing another.

This item came in without any damage; with all the parts required; and was easy to assemble. (At least for my husband it was easy to assemble.) The quality of the file cabinet 4.5 out of 5. The ease of use of this product is 4.0 out of 5. This file cabinet has a couple of ways you can file your paperwork. Horizontal, files facing you and parallel to the unit is perfect. When filing perpendicularly, it is hard to get the files in as the file rim in the back of the drawer (for lack of a better term) is basically under the piece above it, being the other drawer or the top of the unit. You have to angle your file to hang. It is a minor thing, but it's still "not perfect" OVERALL - I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE UNIT. I looked for several months for the proper file cabinet. AND YES, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT AND WOULD PURCHASE AGAIN. Thank you. And anyone who purchases this, I truly believe you will be pleased.

A really classy piece that looks so much nicer than your average ugly gray file cabinets. Hubs and I put it together and it did take about 90 min. Just follow the instructions and you'll have a lovely piece of sturdy, beautiful furniture. It fits a lot of files and I love that the back isn't made of that crappy cardboard- it has a real wood back. On the down side, the bottom of the drawers are NOT the strongest of materials, so if you were planning to put any weight on the drawer itself (like holding reams of printer paper) I wouldn't recommend it unless you have that paper in a hanging folder!

This file cabinet is mostly wonderful. It was easy to put together, it looks great, it's sturdy, and it holds plenty of files. The problem is that the drawers don't open far enough so that the files are easily accessible. In the attached photo you can see the fully extended drawer. You can see that one end of the hanging files is not visible. That is as far as the drawer opens.

This is a beautiful piece of furniture, very stylish and sturdy.

Product somewhat rickety. Instructions not well written. Tried looking up online instructions through included QR codes in instruction booklet. Videos were either unavailable or non-existent. Worst of all, many of the instructions tell you to do things twice, such as when building the drawers, however, they only included screws for one drawer, not two (furthermore the instruction booklet indicates only one set of screws are included in the section that lists everything in the box, so you think you have everything you need if you check that list, when in fact you don’t have everything)! Had to use my own screws for the missing parts. Took over 3 hours to build with electric drill/screw driver. I would NOT recommend building it with only a manual screw driver, but you should have a manual crosshairs screwdriver available for the delicate steps, as there are a few. Building this thing is trial and error on a number of steps as it is hard to tell exactly what to do and WHERE to do it from the instruction booklet. This is not worth anywhere close to the price I paid. Furthermore, it can only hold a limited number of legal size files. It says it can hold all sorts of sizes, but if you think you are going to fill it full of legal size files, forget it. They only go front to back, not side to side. (I bought it for legal folders).

Very nice cabinet, easy to put together myself. Everything fit together the way it was supose to and no missing pieces.

Love this file cabinet. Has locks so you can't open both at the same time. Does not tip over even when full. Great purchase !
