Clear Plastic Placemats Set of 16, 17.5x12 Transparent Vinyl Table Mats

These are great clear mats. I purchased a sparkly silver place mat for my night stand that is rough and would be hard to clean if it got dirty so I purchased this to put it over it. It works wonderfully. Here's the link the the sparkly mat if you're interested. Made well. Crystal clear. Reasonable price. https://a.co/d/0i2bknPP

I bought these to make liners for my circular wicker trays. Cut them out and they look like they came that way. Very pleased. They are clear.

I trim one to fit my laptop and place one on top of it while not in use in order to prevent scratches and dirt. I tend to set things on top of my laptop that I need to deal with the next time I use it, so one of these trimmed placemats on top of it while not in use prevents scratches and dirt. I’m sure they’re great for placemats as well, but this is one of the reasons I use them. Very handy!

These appear as advertised. As another buyer noted, the vinyl is sensitive to heat, for example, a ceramic bowl of recently ladled stew, causing the placemat to deform mildly but permanently to the shape of the base of the bowl. Otherwise, they performed as designed and easily wipe clean.

Love these, because I love my table And they do not hide it.

Edited: while I was washing dishes, I went to wash one of these. The hot water warped it immediately. I don't recommend these as dinner placemats. I'm going with silicone instead, even though they are translucent, not clear like these. I will still use these for my kids to draw and write on. I like to use fabric table cloths, so I bought these to protect my tablecloths from my kids' (and mine too, let's face it) messy eating. Pros: They are crystal clear, so don't stand out and you can see the table cloth perfectly through it. The ones I received are exactly 12 x 18 inches, so the description is correct. They are thick and sturdy. Cons: They look like they might scratch easily, and I'm not sure how heat resistant they are, since they are plastic, not silicone. Also, one of the photos make it look like they are pretty flexible, but they are not. They are difficult to bend, and you definitely could not roll them. Also, they are slick so they won't stay in place. I am going to keep them to try them out. If they don't work out for dinner placemats, then they will still be useful. I have been looking for something that my kids can use to make a harder surface for their papers when they draw or write at the dining table or desks. These will work great for that!

The table is beautiful so I didn’t want to hide it but I did want to protect it.

They are clear, but they are tad cloudy. Overall, they do the trick once I put them out on the area that I wanted them on they’re OK they protect my furniture and that was the goal. Again, I just wish they were clear – crystal clear and not cloudy but for the money they’re worth it.

Cumple lo que esperaba, en muy transparente y fácil de limpiar, muy recomendable, solo hay que retirar la película que lo cubre por ambos lados y queda super transparente.

Has started peeling off less than a week after purchase

We use these over our tablecloth. They are perfectly clear. I am surprised that slipping has not been a problem. I like the look of a tablecloth, and now it stays clean for a lot longer!

Excellent placemats! Simple with no intricate designs but elegant!

Not entirely transparent, but won't distort under reasonnably hot plate. This is what I was looking for.
