Healthy snack bar
Reviewing the ingredient list for the Dark Chocolate Chip, I was a little hesitant to order these bars because they are a lot different than most snack bars I would order. All organic and natural ingredients. Also, for those with nut allergies, the bar contains Cashews. They are a very healthy alternative to most protein bars. These contain a lot of fiber (12g) and very low sugar (3g) with zero added sugars. Also a good amount of protein at 10g.The taste is good but not great and I have to remind myself that I am not eating a candy bar or a snack bar loaded with sugar. I really struggled to rate this between 4 and 5 stars. If there was a 4.5 this is it. It’s a bit dry and chalky but holds up well and doesn’t melt. It’s soft and chewy and overall good. I will say, at the time of my review at over $4 per bar, it is pricey. It’s a solid product.

✅ 🫐 Surprisingly Delicious for How Clean These Are – Huge Upgrade from Their Old Recipe
🫐 I’ve tried a lot of so-called “healthy” bars that either taste like cardboard or are secretly just candy with protein powder mixed in, but these Paleovalley Superfood Bars genuinely impressed me. The dark chocolate chip flavor is rich and satisfying, not overly sweet, and definitely doesn’t have that chalky or artificial aftertaste you get with sugar alcohols or synthetic ingredients.‼️ I used to avoid their older version because it was so gooey and wet it would leak through the wrapper, but this updated formula has a way better texture: still soft and chewy but not messy, and now one of my favorite travel snacks.🐮 What sets these apart is the grass-fed bone broth protein, which is a much gentler option than whey or soy for anyone with digestive issues or food sensitivities. Bone broth protein is rich in collagen types I and III, which can support joint, skin, and gut health by nourishing connective tissue and the intestinal lining. Plus, it’s hydrolyzed for better absorption and doesn’t trigger inflammation the way other proteins might. I like knowing I’m getting 9g of clean, functional protein that supports more than just muscle.🥦 The superfood blend in these bars is another win—you’re getting kale, spinach, broccoli, acerola cherry (a natural source of vitamin C), turmeric, ginger, spirulina, and more. These provide a mix of polyphenols, minerals, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory compounds that most bars don’t even attempt to include. And unlike bars sweetened with erythritol or artificial flavors, these are naturally sweetened with dates and monk fruit, which offer trace nutrients and don’t cause a blood sugar spike.‼️ All in all, for $43 a box, I absolutely think these are worth it for the quality of ingredients and how nutrient-dense and satisfying they are. I’d choose these over LaraBars or RXBars on Amazon, especially because Paleovalley is one of the few brands using organic superfoods and collagen-rich protein from grass-fed sources. Five stars for sure.

Great Ingredients, But the Flavor Didn’t Win Me Over
I really wanted to love these bars because the nutrition profile and ingredients are fantastic: they’re grain-free, gluten-free, paleo-friendly, and made with clean, whole-food sources. With 9g of protein per bar and no sketchy additives, they’re clearly formulated with health in mind.Unfortunately, the flavor just isn’t for me. They taste like salty dark cocoa, and the bitterness is pretty intense. If you’re someone who loves dark chocolate and earthy flavors, you might enjoy them more than I did, but I found the taste a little too overpowering. I’m not sure I’ll be able to finish the box. Finally, at almost $43 for a 10-pack, these are on the more expensive side of protein bars and I would just expect much more for a bar at this price point.Bottom line: Nutritionally excellent and thoughtfully made, but the taste leans strongly toward bitter and salty. If that’s your flavor profile, it could work for you, but otherwise, it might be a tough one to enjoy.

Great Contents but Tastes Like It's Healthy
(and not in a good way)First off, very impressed with the quality ingredients and I DID feel quite good when eating these, especially in terms of digestion. That said, it is by far not a great taste especially with the first bite. Gets better the more you eat. Also, you're certainly paying for those healthy ingredients. I would rebuy when on sale.

Surprisingly Good Snack
As someone who’s always on the lookout for convenient and healthy snacks, I was really interested in trying these Paleovalley Superfood Bars. It’s tough to find something that checks all the boxes – good ingredients, decent macros, and actually tastes okay – and these bars come pretty close. The ingredient list is definitely the standout feature here. Packed with organic superfoods like kale, spinach, and turmeric, you're actually getting some real nutrition in each bite. I appreciate that they use grass-fed bone broth protein as well, which is a nice alternative to whey or soy, and adds a smooth texture. It’s reassuring knowing there are no artificial sweeteners or anything I can’t pronounce.Taste-wise, these aren’t going to knock your socks off – they’re not like eating a chocolate dessert. But honestly, that’s to be expected when you're prioritizing whole food ingredients. They’re lightly sweet, which is perfect for me, and the dark chocolate chips add a pleasant flavor. They definitely satisfy a craving without feeling guilty. The texture is also pretty good - not too chewy or crumbly. These are super convenient too. They’re shelf-stable, so I keep a couple in my bag for those mid-day energy slumps or when I’m traveling. No need to worry about refrigeration or anything like that. They’re also a good option post-workout, providing a quick protein boost.Price wise, at $43 for a 10-pack, they are a bit of an investment compared to some other bars on the market. However, considering the quality of the ingredients and the nutritional benefits, I think it's worth it. I'd definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a healthier, more wholesome snack option. They're a great pick for busy people who want something that's good for them without sacrificing convenience.
